after listening to sabalenka's post match interview.....im just disappointed. I really didn't expect this especially for her, she did not just say that coco didn't play hard to get the trophy....
honestly when i saw her play in the finals, i could feel she a being a wee bit overconfident and took coco lightly, which might or might not have influenced the outcome
three types of athletes I support
1) deranged on court/stadium/pitch/track, pookie on interviews
2) gives no fucks whatsoever
3) mentally ill dumbass

ok like yeah the coco/aryna damage control tiktoks are cringe but also it’s really telling how adamant people are to hold on to a grudge between two women for a single (stupid and insensitive but clearly not actually malicious) remark.
especially when it was obvious from the start that coco never truly took it that personally. especially when other athletes (men) in the past have said pretty much the exact same thing without consequence. it’s just notable, is all i’m saying.
I’m not a sabalenka fan, ive never been a sabalenka fan, and i think she shouldn’t have said what she said—but some of the stuff people are saying about her is truly out of line and she doesn’t deserve it
