Sk8 OVA has thrown me back into the pit 😔
You know the funniest thing about SK8 the Infinity or whatever? Langa and Reki, simply do not care. They don't give a shit. The whole series, ADAM is making ominous biblical lusty threats towards Langa and Langa is NEVER paying attention, Reki is too busy having a mental crisis/coming of age moment to pay attention to the guy that literally beats the shit out of him, but at no point are they like 'maybe we are being treated in an odd way' or 'maybe we should find out more about Adam' because they don't give a shit.
They never approach Joe and Cherry like 'we need to know the TRUTH about Adam' because they're too busy dapping each other up in an abandoned skate park. Reki gets hit by a car by someone connected to Adam and when Snake goes projecting all his issues he's like 'okay whatever, unrelatable'. Langa brings up 'I wonder why Adam skates' ONE TIME, and they're like 'it's probably because he enjoys it, no other possible reason'. They don't care about his shady past with Cherry and Joe. They don't care that he's a politician. They simply have two priorities and it's each other and skating.
It's so funny to me that they're THIS apathetic to the main antagonist. Himbo's wish they could be this dumb.

SEX OFFENDER ON A SKATEBOARD AMDNSKFNSKDNDM
SK8 characters on how well they hide their civilian identity: ranked from best to worst
Adam (Ainosuke)- he’s a politician by day, sex offender on a skateboard by night. Plus he has a whole ass matador costume and wears a mask that literally hides his face. Even as a teen he wore a hood to hide his face. He keeps his double identity well hidden, to pretty much everybody except Tadashi.
Cherry (Kaoru)- like Adam, he wears a face covering, but on the bottom half of his face. He also wears his hair up and wears contacts and has an entirely different outfit for skating. He’s gotten mad at Joe for using his real name at “S”, and at Reki for using his “S” name in the real world.
Shadow (Hiromi)- initially, I ranked him higher than Cherry based on looks (his shadow persona is very different from his civilian self), but then I remembered that he regularly shows up to “S” with his VERY DISTINCTIVE pink car that he uses for work. He can try to cover up the little logo of his work place, but c'mon. It’s a pink car.
Joe (Kojiro)- Joe’s “S” outfit is… being shirtless? LOL he’s not doing much to try to hide his identity looks-wise, but still has an “S” name he goes by
SNOW (Langa)- Langa doesn’t really have an “S” outfit, so he ain’t hiding. However, his clothes are pretty plain and non-identifiable so he could easily hide among a crowd. He has an “S” name but doesn’t really seem to acknowledge it (then again, he doesn’t seem to acknowledge anything- Langa really said head empty, only Reki).
MIYA- his “S” name is basically his first name so he ain’t hiding either. He wears his infamous cat-boy hoodie when he skates but that’s probably cuz he doesn’t want to get his school uniform dirty.
Reki- this boy isn’t hiding anything- he showed up in the FIRST episode in his work uniform to deliver a skateboard. Reki really said fuck privacy I’m coming to “S” in my SCHOOL UNIFORM and you will address me by my REAL name. boy might as well be passing out his home address and social security number, smh.
BONUS- Tadashi is a mystery to everybody at “S”. He comes out of NOWHERE to crash the tournament, BEATS adam’s record during qualifiers, wins the beef against Miya in a landslide, then dips. Plus he wears the cap man uniform when he skates so now everybody at “S” is sus of which one among them is the infamous SNAKE.
When Miya turns 16, he starts to figure out a thing or two.
He realizes that the comfort he feels when he is with Reki is not normal, his heart feels warm when the older one hugs him, he spends most of the time at the Kyan's house and what he considers worst is the slight feeling of jealousy when Reki prefers to spend more time with Langa than with him
That leads Miya to think, "Oh shit, I'm in love with the slime."
So Miya denies those feelings and starts trying to date guys to stop thinking about Reki, so he gets a red-haired boyfriend with a very curious resemblance to Reki.
But the relationship doesn't work out because Miya refuses to kiss him or do any other kind of common dating activity, so the relationship ends and Reki being the ray of sunshine that he is, consoles Miya for his first love breakup.
Reki mentions something like: "Whenever you want someone to talk to, you can come to me, Gatito, that's what the family is for."
And then Miya reacts and ends up realizing that his feelings for Reki are not as he thought.
Miya loves Reki, but not in a romantic way, Miya loves Reki like family, Miya sees Reki as an older brother and he completely agrees with that.
So Miya smiles at Reki and says "You can count on that slime"
Reki introducing his friends to his Mexican family:
Reki: Él es Langa, mi güerito bonito.
Reki: El chaparro es Miya, el morro castroso.
Reki: El viejo de allí es Hiromi, el quedado.
Reki: Y los dos de allá que se estan peleando son Kaoru y Kojiro, yo les digo la Fresa y el Guacamole.
Langa, Miya, Hiromi, Kaoru and Kojiro: *Smiling without knowing what Reki said about them*
Reki: Pinche chamaco caguengue todo castroso hijo de toda tu pinche madre.
Miya: What did you say?
Reki: That I love you as a little brother.
Well the end is near( since we’re hours away from sk8 episode 12).... hopefully not..
As much as I thought episode 11 of sk8 the infinity was good, because let’s be honest here it was fucking hilarious to see Ad*m trip not once but twice and be the laughingstock of S and Reki being amazing ! And as much I’d like to make a bunch of condescending jokes about Ad*m throwing a tantrum( because he was acting all pathetic like seriously somebody get the wambulance for the poor wittle disgusting baby ) but we would be here for hours... and in all seriousness, I am not ready for episode 12!!! I seriously hope we get a season 2 because I feel like with all the drama that has happened from the previous episodes, one season isn’t enough and I’m downright terrified for what will go down for the final round and I really grew to love this anime even though the angst was killing me ( renga and matcha blossom heals all wounds, specifically the latter) so hopefully we will get a season 2 and the important end goal here is that I hope Ad*m goes to jail because if he dares to harm Reki again and dares call Langa his Eve and act all creepy towards him one more time!!!( Ad*m step away from the underaged boys!!) I’m more than ready to give H*soka 2.0 a one-way ticket to hell!! But again in all seriousness, Even though I am by no means prepared for the last episode of sk8 the infinity, I just want to say that I really loved this anime and I love being in this fandom and hey, if I made it this far , I might as well see it to the very end.
( hopefully we do get a season 2 because I want more Renga and Matcha blossom moments )
Alright everyone we are hours away from sk8 the infinity episode 11 , how is everyone feeling?
With everything that happened in the previous episode I’m freaking out over all the drama that happened, like Miya and Reki fighting, Shadow getting hurt and ending up in the hospital,and Reki getting beat up and then get hit by a car , but we at least we finally got to see Reki and Langa make up and that confession was beautiful , ( Renga is so canon , that scene was so beautiful and pure and so powerful it could turn a fallen angel’s wings white) and for once I didn’t feel emotionally drained this time like I usually do because I was so happy for a moment I almost forgot about the angst( delayed reaction)and then I remembered that Ad*m is still being creepy(angels wings turned black again and is back to being fallen) and using a drone to stalk Langa and somehow plans on harming Reki( I’m scared to find that out when episode 11 shows up in a matter of hours) in the tournament, I’m just hoping that tadashi will help Reki a little to give him the upper hand and Ad*m will end up in jail because the charges just keep piling up and his days of freedom are numbered! ( also I still can’t believe joe bridal carried cherry, got to appreciate the matcha blossom crumbs) I just hope I’m mentally prepared for this!
