This was a fun little experiment... I was trying to get better at sketching, so I told myself I was going to sketch something everyday, no matter what, no matter how I felt. It's always good to just make yourself do something, even when you don't have the motivation.
What ended up happening, however, was I started drawing silly little robots. I have a few of these guys that, collectively, I've taken to calling "The Robots of Whimsy."
This happy little fellow, I like to call Hippo_bot_amus.

A favorite of mine. Calligraphy done only with a Pilot G2 pen... Playing with making an insignia.
ROOK. Favorite. Done.
A bit darker in tone, a bit more minimalist, and not using any marker for text over top. Utilizing only two colors, other than the white of the paper, this one is called "Seep," sort of a play on the melting of one's character, worn down by the world, the darkness latching on and making one's true colors bleed.
It's not all bad though. If you're observant, you'll find a simple, more lighthearted message embedded within.
Thanks for looking!
So, I actually finished this one about a month ago, and just forgot to put it up here. Everything you see here is just paint and paper (finally got to make use of a special glow-in-the-dark spray that I bought a while back). The maze was drawn and then hand cut by me.

(It looks even better in person... Hard to capture since I don't have a badass camera.)
Yesterday, I took delivery of the first printing of my novel, COLOR OF A MIRROR. It’s hard to believe that I wrote a book, that it’s finally a real thing… even more surreal that people are beginning to read this story in so many different places.
Books are in stock now on my website, including the brutalist “ArtificeLux Edition” deluxe hardcover (shown below). Be sure to check it out if you want an unconventional, dark cyberpunk novel to keep you company this winter!
(And listen to the dark ambient soundtrack while you read! Available on Spotify and other streaming services, or on vinyl in limited quantities on my site.)
