"compassion, which I would define as unconditional love, is essential to a jedi's life. so you might say that we are encouraged to love."

[id: It’s two drawings, one a half body of a clone with his hands on his hips, and the second of said clone talking to a Twi’lek Jedi. He is drawn with chin-length hair that is done half up half down, a goatee, and a tattoo on his forehead. The Jedi is wearing clone armor, a metal headpiece, and a brown cloak. Both of their armor is decorated with maroon paint. /end id]
Padme, the child queen, who wears her stoic face of diplomacy under a ten pound wig and headpiece, who poses pillar-straight under even heavier 50 pound elaborate gowns, who pleads to the Galactic Senate to help her planet. Her planet was blockaded, her cities invaded, her people captured and detained in camps. The queen Padme, whose pleas were democratically ignored due to the greed of corrupt senators allied with the Trade Federation that sought to seize her planet. Padme, the young queen, with her back straight and her face calm and unlined, had to bear their dismissal. Padme, who assisted in the defense of her planet with two Jedi and a boy they pulled from slavery. A boy who called her an angel and did not hesitate to risk his life to help save hers when thousands of galactic representatives so recently declared the lives of her and her planet not worth the risk or effort.
And years later when this boy cries over his mother, only just dead, and admits to slaughtering those who captured and imprisoned her, Padme thinks, “This is a man who will do anything for me, will slay my enemies, will be the anger I should not feel. He is worth the risk and effort.”

Robyn didn’t know what to make of him.
She had failed in her mission. She was supposed to land on Empress Teta, retrieve the force sensitive child, and bring it back to the grand inquisitor. But now she had a survivor of the purge currently in binders and knocked out in her passenger bay. The jedi had surprised her, showing a shocking amount of skill for someone who couldn’t have been more than a padawan by the end of the order, like herself. She didn’t recognize him, not like there was that big of a chance of them knowing each other. The temple was a big place and the jedi were spread thin back then. As the ship left the atmosphere of the planet, she sent a message off to the Grand Inquisitor, informing him of her recent prisoner before jumping to hyperspace. With the blue tunnel of lightspeed filling her viewport, Robyn stood up from the pilot seat making her way over to the slumped over form of the young jedi. His clothes were worn out, ratty and filled with holes, a simple wool poncho draped over his shoulders. His face was obscured by a mess of brown hair as his head hung forward, the straps of the seat keeping him from falling to the floor. Robyn crouched down in front of him and held his head up by the chin, taking note of any remarkable features. His eyes were covered by an old cloth wrap, the edges were frayed, and fabric strained by time. The rest of his face was overall unremarkable with fair skin, a thin layer of dirt, and no scars as far as she could tell. Aside from the new bruise on his cheek from her final kick. She envied him, her own face was marked with the mistakes she had made in training, the lessons she had been taught by her superiors.
Looking closer she noticed a marking poking from his collar, a bit of skin texture different than the rest. She moved the loose neckline out of the way and saw she was mistaken. There was a notable neck wound, ringing his entire throat as if he had been strangled. She winced at the marking, remembering her own pain.
Standing back up she moved over to the control console and retrieved a datapad and bringing it back to the prisoner. She lifted his face up once again and attempted to take a scan of his face only to be met with a shrill tone as the screen displayed OBSTRUCTION DETECTED. Robyn scoffed and rolled her eyes, these cheap imperial toys never worked right. She grabbed on to the cloth obscuring his eyes and lifted it up, only to find nothing, not even eye sockets as it was simply smooth skin. Letting out a hum of surprise she put the cloth back. Grabbing his hand instead she placed his thumb on the touch pad and let the pad get to work searching all available databases for who this survivor could be.
Suddenly an alert played from the front console, indicating an incoming call. She knew instantly who was trying to contact her. A jolt of fear shot through her, instinctively dropping to a knee and bowing her head as a tall blue hologram appeared before her. Even with her eyes averted, Robyn could feel his eyes boring into her, searching for anything he could use to instill even more fear within her.
“Report 12th Sister, I expect you have completed your mission?” His cold voice sent chills down her spine, and yet she answered with the truth, knowing that if she lied here, he would respond with double the fury.
“N-no Grand inquisitor, my attention was pulled away by another target…” She looked up at him, his eyes changing from calm to angered in a fraction of a second, forcing Robyn to spit out her explanation in a mess of words.
“… who turned out to be a survivor of the purge.” Her head shot down, quickly averting her eyes again. She tensed, bracing for him to loudly demand she returned to her assigned task, and threaten destruction as he had done many times before.
“I assume you captured this individual?” He said, a slight tint of intrigue in his voice.
She looked up, quickly rising to address him directly.
“Yes sir, he was attempting to leave the planet, but I was able to catch and subdue him.” Her eyes glancing at the helmet behind him, the crack in the visor reminding her the capture was far from perfect. How she only caught him due to a strange pulling from the force, calling her back to her ship in time to catch the boy trying to sneak aboard.
“I’ll transmit his profile to you now” She grabbed the datapad and quickly sent the information it had found, hoping it was accurate. The Grand Inquisitor’s image reached out of view, retrieving a pad of his own.
“Let us see here, Andime Endari, miraluka male, jedi padawan and aspirant of the…” He paused, the hand he kept always behind his back tensing into a fist in an almost imperceptible movement. But she had become good at noticing his body language, a survival tactic she had picked up as a way to best avoid his wrath.
“…Jedi Temple Guard” saying each word as if he had an individual vendetta against each one. He set the datapad down calmly, seemingly thinking for a moment before turning back to Robyn.
“Good work apprehending this fugitive, but I would like to see this one for myself.”
“Sir?”
“I will send you coordinates for a meeting location, go there and wait for me. Perhaps we can negotiate your place in the Inquisitorius once we have dealt with this one.” She looked up at him in surprise, could a single padawan be worth that much? Robyn bowed her head.
“It will be done”
With a nod from the Pau’an his form blinked away, leaving her alone with the unconscious Miriluka once more. She crouched down in front of him again, asking him a question in the front of her mind.
“What makes you so important?”
Maybe when he wakes up, he can give her an answer.
