I don’t know if it’s just me, but over the last year we’ve seen a couple of repeat offenders finding themselves in hospital a couple of times or simply talking about their injuries and illnesses. BL actors aren’t invincible and just as human as the rest of us. Let’s see…

Mew Suppasit: He’s a repeat offender when it comes to hospital stays. Last year he was hospitalized already for his cough and this year for dehydration and stomach problems, even though at first they thought it was appendicitis. He goes into quite a lot of detail about his symptoms and I’m not always sure I wanna know all of that, but ok.

Bottom line seems to be that his immune system seems to suffer under his immense workload and lack of sleep. Hopefully, he’ll be able to take a longer vacation as soon as Covid allows it again.

He is however in good company of being hospitalized: There are also pictures of Saint Suppapong and PP Krit in hospital. According to this source Saint was admitted for the flu, I don’t know what was wrong with PP though. I hope it wasn’t too bad and maybe in Thailand overnight hospital stays are more common? Just a speculation, because over here you wouldn’t go to the hospital for a cough or a fever, but simply to your physician around the corner.

Keita Machida: In 2010, long before he became Kurosawa he became part of Exile. In 2011 he became part of the project Generations from Exile tribe. During a stage play he injured his leg so badly that he had to pause and recuperate for months and finally left the group. (Source)

Staying in the Cherry Magic family, next is Eiji Akaso, who is not exactly suffering from a condition, but from severe food allergies, according to this video:

He was also treated for them live in TV as you can see in a very short cut here.

After reading this I wonder what he can even eat without going into anaphylactic shock.

Tul Pakorn 

Much more recently, actually as I am writing this he’s still being treated for it. Tul Pakorn caught Bell’s Palsy just a couple of months after being hospitalized for high fever and Tonsillitis. It’s an illness I’d never heard before this year when an American Drag queen caught it and told his journey with it on social media.

Bell’s Palsy is a facial paralysis that can affect one or both sides of the face. In Tul’s case it was/is only one side and he’s also describing the horrible pain he sometimes is in. (Source: Instagram ) The cause for the condition is unknown. Some link it to viral infection of the upper respiratory tract, stress, pregnancy or diabetes. Usually the symptoms start to ease after about two weeks, in some cases it takes up to six months. Judging by Tul’s story today I’d say he’s getting better.

And last but not least: Billkin

He’s suffering from a condition called Psychogenic Dyspnea, which he describes as congenital. It means that when he’s stressed, overtired or in any other situation of anxiety or psychological stress it can happen that he starts to hyperventilate, because he feels a shortness of breath. He describes it very clearly in this interview:

From a video it looks like that happened during the shooting of my ambulance, even though I can’t be sure since I don’t understand what PP explains. As someone suffering from Dyspnea myself (although for completely different reasons) it looks very familiar though.(4:50 min in the video below)

Treatment for the Psychogenic Dyspnea usually involves some for of psychotherapy because it it linked to panic attacks and anxiety. (Sources: ResearchGate )

2017 BBMAs TO 2020 BBMAs, WHAT A JOURNEY!

BTS & ARMYs got laughed at for trying so hard for what others called a ‘paper award’ but look at how far that award no one cared for, pushed these 7 boys to worldwide stardom. 

In 2017, ARMYs spammed the BBMAs and asked them to invite BTS, after calls, tagging, emails and many petitions … they finally did but BTS didn’t perform, they were just there to receive (hopefully) the award. People thought we had no pride and the fact that we thought BTS, 7 Asian boys from a small agency in South Korea, would ever make it in the US market was insane and stupid. 

At that time, even BTS didn’t think they would make it but those boys are even to this day too humble to realize their worth. But ARMYs saw in BTS what prejudice hide from others. We decided to prove everyone wrong, but we also knew that even if BTS went to a US award show it wasn’t enough. Thus, we bought tickets to the award show and filled the place, went to the red carpet and filled it too, so when others’ heard us scream BTS’ name they were shocked and finally people started asking: “Who is BTS?” Next, we called and asked talk shows to invite the boys while they were in the US. Sent flowers, donuts, cupcakes… to radio stations and hosts. Fought against journalists that wrote articles that belittled the boys. And so so so on.

Now let’s look at the present. Today, BTS won that once mocked award (Top Social Artist) AGAIN for the 4th year in a row. For the 2020 BBMAs, they performed in the largest airport in S.Korea (Incheon Airport) their hit single ‘Dynamite’ (Got #1 Billboard Hot 100 for weeks). The small company that debuted BTS is now worth billions. ARMY that many derided is now smarter, bigger and more influential than any other fandom in the whole world. 

They said we threw our pride to the ground 4 years ago, but we put our bets on BTS and look at how they took it right to the very top. How proud do I feel as an ARMY? Hard to describe the taste of glory after a long battle, but it’s very bitter-sweet. The scars are there but the look of smiles on both BTS & my ARMY family can heal it all. We once hoped together for better days while singing 2! 3! And after 7 years of walking this road with BTS, it did … it really did.
