Lily Couldn't Help A Small Huff When Seeing That Xavier Had Been No Better Than Her About Listening To

"I tend to be good at making sense." She teased playfully, looking up at him with a smirk.

His question makes her hum, expression softening. "I don't know... But I hope so."

As much as it hurt to not be certain, no matter how much she wanted to insist that they'd see each other again, she couldn't bear the thought of insisting so confidently and then not being able to follow through, whether it was by her choice or not. But she meant what she did get to say, genuinely hoping that they could see each other again. It looks like she has a lot of hugs to make up for!

"Try to take care of yourself until then, okay?" She requested, her tone gentle as she reached up to cup his cheek.

Lily holds her arms out slightly towards Dawnbreaker, hoping to make it so he won't feel bad if he refuses her invitation.

"Would you like a hug?"

His eyes light up briefly at the prospect of physical comfort.

"...Yes, I would."

He steps towards her, enveloping her in a gentle embrace to avoid causing her any discomfort, despite his wishes. He leans his forehead on her shoulder, closing his eyes.

Lily didn't even have the opportunity to warn him about how hot they'd be fresh out of the oven, just letting out a small sigh to keep from laughing at such a familiar mistake.

She took a moment to quickly get a cup of cool water to offer for him with one hand, the other hand gently reaching to take the plate from him as well. "Here, drink this to cool off your mouth." She instructed gently.

Any semblance of scolding can be saved for when he's not at notable risk of burning his mouth, and even then, it was adorable. That he was so excited to eat the sweets they'd made that he apparently forgot that they were hot out of the oven.

[Phone call, Xavier's voice sounds urgent] "I'm in great danger I need you to come downstairs right now. Please! You're the only one that can help. In fact, the entire complex may be in danger if you don't help me stop this right now."

As soon as she registered the urgency and he mentioned 'upstairs', Lily was rushing out of her apartment, only sparing enough time to grab her guns as a precaution.

"I'm on my way!" She reassured as she hurried upthe flight of stairs between them. Her thoughts were already racing a mile a minute, wondering what could possibly be causing Xavier of all people to struggle and call for help, especially without causing much of a ruckus.

By the time she reached his door her heart was pounding and she was braced for a fight.

Lily giggled quietly at his reaction to the boop, finding herself oddly proud of such a simple reaction. Perhaps it’s because she gets to see this side of him and gets to share such domestic moments with him.

“It honestly does take a lot of patience, especially when you’re first starting and more prone to messing up.”

She kept her focus on him carefully putting the dry ingredients with the wet, if only to ensure that she keeps a calm expression to not give away the fact that the scarf she is working on is actually for him. As long as she thinks it’s good enough quality for him, of course.

“I’m hoping that it’ll be able to serve it’s purpose, if nothing else.”

Lily hummed at the suggestion and nodded. "I could make us little scrapbooks." She offered, looking up to him to see what he thought. "There's still plenty of photos on our phones to start with, after all."

The idea starts to snowball in her head, already figuring out what all she'd need to make it happen, and she is looking forward to getting to work on it. Looks like she's figured out how to spend her weekend, if she gets it off!

Though all productive (and self-deprecating) thoughts were derailed by his comment as she outright gawked at him. "You brat!" She laughed, moving to smack his arm before grabbed the food. No risking the food!

"Yes, let's go." She snorted, taking the lead out of the store to hold the door open for him as she thought. "I know there's a kind of small playground just a few minutes away that has some tables we can sit at?"

After spending the morning doing research on places in Linkon City that offer milk tea, Lily finally found a place that seemed like it would be a nice place to visit and had the coffee milk tea that Xavier mentioned. Plus it wasn't far from a few good places to eat so they'd have options based on what they were feeling up to without having to go all the way across town. Perfect.

Lily finally sent Xavier a text in the late morning.

'I found a place that has that coffee milk tea you mentioned! And it has really good reviews.'

After a moment of thought, she sent another text as well.

'And thank you for walking me home last night. I really appreciated it. It was nice, looking at the stars with you.'

If not for the sporadic texts, Xavier would still be asleep. Outside the birds that often bickered over his balcony were squawking at a volume loudly. The combination of factors is enough to stir him, just barely. He knows its her before having to unlock his phone.

↪[ Audio: I'm awake. I'm up. I'm coming. ]

↪[ It was nice. Let's do it again sometime ]

In a flash he rinses off, takes care of basic hygiene, and is donning a favored hoodie in spite of the weather.

By the time he gets downstairs, he's already rubbing his eyes again as he knocks on the door.

Lily helped him keep his balance as he crouched down too, humming happily as she gently scratched under the cat's chin.

She decided to just accept the out, giggling a little as she leaned against him for a moment. "I appreciate the vote of confidence." She half-teased, though she does genuinely appreciate it.

She turned her attention to the cat again, the unexpected excitement of the evening already wearing off.

Normally, Lily tries to be fully aware of her surroundings. Working as a Hunter means she shouldn't let her guard down, especially when by herself. Who knows what threats are just waiting for a chance to strike, after all?

Though normally, Lily doesn't have to resort to late night walks to try and clear her mind so that she can sleep.

Suddenly hearing a voice nearby startles her out of her own thoughts, immediately setting her on alert. Her head whipped around towards the source, her posture tense and ready for a fight. Once she finally recognized Xavier, she let out a slow breath that ended in a sheepish laugh.

"Xavier!" She half-greeted, half-scolded.

Once she finally processed his warning, she offered what she hoped came across as a reassuring smile. "I know, I know. But I'm a big girl, I can handle going for a little starlit walk before bed." She teased, running her fingers through her hair in an attempt to calm herself down further so her heart wasn't pounding so hard in her chest.

"What about you? You're out rather late too."

Name: Lucas (ofc it means Light :P Though they absolutely call him their Little Star as well)

Gender: Male

General Appearance: Blue eyes with gold flecks, blonde hair like Lily’s

Personality: Smart, but can be hard to motivate, generally chill. Never resists nap time, but hates bedtime because he likes how pretty everything is at night. 

Special Talents: 

Communicating without talking

He's a very expressive child, even before he can talk, he manages it make it pretty clear exactly what he wants

Potential Powers: I feel like if he has an EVOL, then it would be similar to Xavier’s Light EVOL, if not just straight up the same EVOL. Lily won't ever admit it out loud, but she's kind of grateful that her child would have his EVOL instead of hers, because having an EVOL best suited for support definitely messed with her self esteem. 

Who they like better: Xavier, since he thinks he's the absolute coolest, and Xavier falls victim to puppy dog eyes a lot easier than Lily does. 

Who they take after more: Pretty even split? Most people think he's practically a mini-Xavier, but Lily’s influence is still definitely there, just harder to notice. He's crafty like her, and shares her habit of mimicking the people he's around / likes. That just means that, as a kid, he ends up mimicking Xavier a lot. He also gets his patience and tact from his mother as well. 

Personal Headcanon: 

He loves helping his parents in the kitchen (and 100% ‘tattles’ if Xavier ends up in the kitchen when Lily isn't looking, unless he's bribed)

Though, he also ‘tattles’ on Lily if she pushes herself too much and does chores or anything when Xavier tells her not to, so it's kept pretty fair

Despite how much he looks up to his parents, and how they're both Deepspace Hunters, he doesn't really want to be a Hunter. He wants to help people, and he loves ‘training’ (play fighting that actually teaches him useful skills too) with his dad, but if asked if he wants to be a Hunter he just kinda… shrugs

Short Bio: Lucas is honestly spoiled growing up, but of course his parents make sure he doesn't end up spoiled rotten. He's not a materialistically needy kid honestly, he just wants to be near at least one of them as much as possible.

With all the hype for the next chapter of Love and Deepspace, I felt inclined to try and figure out how I keep picturing Lily presenting herself in the N109 zone!

Xavier said it won't work if it's not intimidating enough, and she took that to heart and channeled her inner villain for her new aesthetic :P
