Lily hummed and pulled her phone out so she could make a note in her calendar so she won't risk forgetting, nodding along in her agreement with Kaia's plans. Honestly by the end of the little rambles, she was laughing quietly and accepting Kaia's phone to put her contact in.
"It's hardly stolen if it's freely given, but yes, you can have my number. It'd be rather hard to coordinate if I didn't, wouldn't it?" She asked playfully as she offered the phone back to Kaia, then offering her own in turn.
"And I can definitely share my schedule with you. It really would make it easier for planning to train together, and we can fine tune the plan some over lunch." She reassured, finding Kaia's bubbly excitement so endearing honestly. Cute.

Lily was more than a little startled to suddenly feel her sleeve grabbed while she was looking for a new jacket to replace her favorite one that has... been through it. It's getting a few small holes in it but she's already mended it so many times it's time to retire it.
She blinked in surprise at Kaia for a moment before she started laughing, keeping it relatively quiet for the moment so they don't draw too much attention.
"Yes, I'm Lily. You're Kaia, right?" She asked, hoping she doesn't make a fool of herself.
At Kaia's concerns about how this is the first time they're speaking, she shook her head with a smile and waved a hand dismissively. "It's alright, don't worry!" She reassured easily "Do you need help finding the person you're here with?" She offered, tilting her head slightly.
Lily laughed sheepishly at his response. "A nap sounds heavenly, but I'm worried it would mess up my sleep schedule too bad." She explained, glancing towards him before focusing on where she's walking again. "Honestly I sometimes envy how easily you seem to fall asleep pretty much anywhere."
She hummed thoughtfully at his suggestions of what they could do, her eyebrows furrowing slightly. So many options... "A video game would work, I think? I figure we've had enough outside time, so we get to be comfy at home." She suggested playfully.
After spending the morning doing research on places in Linkon City that offer milk tea, Lily finally found a place that seemed like it would be a nice place to visit and had the coffee milk tea that Xavier mentioned. Plus it wasn't far from a few good places to eat so they'd have options based on what they were feeling up to without having to go all the way across town. Perfect.
Lily finally sent Xavier a text in the late morning.
'I found a place that has that coffee milk tea you mentioned! And it has really good reviews.'
After a moment of thought, she sent another text as well.
'And thank you for walking me home last night. I really appreciated it. It was nice, looking at the stars with you.'
If not for the sporadic texts, Xavier would still be asleep. Outside the birds that often bickered over his balcony were squawking at a volume loudly. The combination of factors is enough to stir him, just barely. He knows its her before having to unlock his phone.

In a flash he rinses off, takes care of basic hygiene, and is donning a favored hoodie in spite of the weather.
By the time he gets downstairs, he's already rubbing his eyes again as he knocks on the door.
Lily at least tried to help with carrying the boxes so that they could head home, not the slightest bit phrased by his phrasing. “We should probably at least stop home to drop off the food, yeah,” she agreed, starting to lead the way once they had everything gathered.
His comment about taking a nap earned a small laugh, humming thoughtfully. “Honestly a nap does sound pretty nice...” She admitted, even if she knows she probably shouldn’t let herself take a nap. She’d ruin her sleep schedule if she did, and that’s the last thing she needs right now.
“To be fair, you work really hard, so I’m not surprised that you end up so tired.” Even if she wishes that she could do more so that he wasn’t exhausting himself so much... but she has such a long ways to go to even begin to compare.

CHILDHOOD BEST FRIENDS
we were only kids back then. we didn't know any better.
you promised me we'd be friends forever.
you've changed quite a bit since i saw you last.
how are your parents doing? will you tell them i said hi?
i've known you for years, and you haven't changed a bit.
you've always been like this.
remember the last time this happened?
sure, i made a lot of mistakes, but so did you.
do you remember how we met?
you always stood up for me, no matter what.
i've always had a lot of love in my heart for you.
when i was struggling, you were always there for me.
I TOLD YOU TO STAY AWAY
i thought i told you to stay away.
you've got a lot of nerve, showing your face around here again.
i really don't want to see you again.
you're supposed to call and warn me before you show up here.
there's never going to be a "next time."
this is the last time you show up like this.
last time i said i never wanted to see you again, and yet here you are.
you can't just show up here unannounced.
you remember what happened the last time you showed up.
every time you show up here, shit hits the fan.
you're putting us all in danger by showing up here.
don't you have somewhere else to be?
ROMANTIC FEELINGS
i'm sorry, but i can't stop thinking about you.
after the time we spent together, you've been on my mind.
can we discuss what happened between us?
the last time i saw you, you were going to say something... and then you stopped.
did you mean it? any of it?
i wish we were still together.
would you go on another date with me?
it's hard to deny how you make me feel.
you've always had an effect on me.
i can't stop thinking about the way you look at me.
GENERIC "I'VE KNOWN YOU FOR A WHILE"
do you remember what you told me?
i can't believe this is happening to us again.
the last time this happened, we were better prepared.
i tried calling you a hundred times, but you never answered.
this was never supposed to end like this.
didn't you see my text?
i know you better than anyone else.
you can't lie to me. i can tell when you're lying.
you're making "the face" again.
you promised me you'd stop doing that.
It took a moment for Lily to even register he'd spoken again, too caught up in being so close to him. Running her fingers through his hair carefully, even after she'd already straightened it out some.
She didn't dare look into his eyes long, as much as she loved them. Being this close means that he'd be able to see how flustered she gets, and she doesn't want to go making him uncomfortable by just staring.
Though even through her own fluster she managed to see his flush, earning an affectionate little giggle as she backed off some to give him breathing room. "That sounds like a good plan," she reassured, having finally processed his suggestion.
His attempts at distracting her managed to get more openly amused responses, Lily covering her mouth for a moment to hide her giggles. "And yeah, we can head somewhere else. Anywhere that you want to go?" She asked, packing up anything left of their pizza.

Still flustered by her admission, Lily didn't even notice the rollercoaster of emotions that she'd sent Xavier through. Though when he finally spoke again, she found her shoulders relaxing in relief. On some level she knows that Xavier is far from judgemental, especially when it comes to her, but that reassurance still helped shake away the last of the anxiety.
"Honestly I'm a little impressed by how much you remember about me," she admitted with a small laugh, "In no time you're going to know me better than I know myself."
Her cheeks warmed at how genuine he sounded, insisting that she was worth hearing over and over. It was making her feel some kind of way, like it was something she never knew she needed to hear.
When he took her trash for her she sat up a bit straighter, making sure to thank him. When he returned with his wind-tossled hair, she couldn't help a small laugh as she stood slightly to lean across the table and gently help him finger brush it back into place.
"Your hair is so soft..." She mumbled, more for herself than anything.

Kaia's suggestion honestly sounded perfect to her, so Lily nodded in agreement. "We can definitely do that. Well just need to book the training time, but I can take care of that later if you want me to." She offered, taking the blue jacket off for now to put her white one back on.
All of the compliments still made her cheeks flush, only to turn a deeper red at her teasing. Lily shot her a playful look, reaching over as though she was going to smack her arm, but not making contact just yet. They're not that familiar with each other yet. "Oh hush, you." She pouted.
The request for lunch made her hum in thought, tilting her head slightly as she considered before shrugging and offering the other hunter a smile. "That sounds good to me. I don't have anything important going n today, so I suppose you can steal me for a while longer." She teased

Lily stuck her tongue out at him playfully in response, even with her cheeks still pink. "You know what I mean." She insisted, even as she's already fighting down her giggles.
Though his more serious admission made her hum in response, finishing off her drink finally and seeming a little surprised to have already reached the end. However she just set it aside for the moment to throw away once they're done.
"I know... I think sometimes it's hard to think of a good question to ask, or I have something to ask but it's a bad time." She looked a little sheepish as she attempted to explain her train of thought, absently fiddling with a napkin as she wiped some sauce of of her hands. Lily couldn’t help but giggle around her next bite of pizza at his question, offering a nod of agreement. Once her mouth isn’t full anymore, she answers him more properly. “Of course! You’re always welcome to reach out if you want to hang out,” she reassured with ease. If anything, it’s comforting to know that he wants to spend more time with her, and it’s not just her pestering him for attention.
She nodded along to his own analysis, only to flush when he reaches over to wipe her mouth for her. She mumbled a quiet gratitude, honestly a little embarrassed even if it’s unavoidable to be kind of messy when eating something like pizza.
His gratitude managed to distract her enough to speak properly again. “Well thank you for the idea," she returned playfully.

"I'm honestly trying to be flexible with weaponry, but I'm most comfortable with a gun. I prefer keeping a distance where I can." Lily answered honestly "Though I've been practicing with the sword lately. It is a lot more active, and exhausting." She laughed sheepishly, shaking her head. "Talk about a workout..."
She looked at the jacket curiously and felt it curiously, humming happily "Ooo it feels nice!" She beamed, checking the size before taking off her white jacket to try on the blue one. "I think this is actually a really good fit. Good choice!" She praised, turning her attention back to Kaia.

Lily hummed happily as she ate her pizza, a much slower eater than him but certainly not hiding her appetite either. At his admission, she flushed light pink and hummed appreciatively. "I see. Well, you don't have to go such round about ways to ask me to hang out." She teased affectionately.
At the question about the pizza, she hummed thoughtfully. "It's a really good one, for sure! Not overly greasy, and a good flavor." She mused, putting genuine thought into her little 'review'. "I'd definitely add them as an option for dinner when I'm too lazy to cook." She concluded, turning her attention to him. "What do you think?"

At the offer, she shook her head and grabbed a slice of pizza to start eating. "I've still got some, so I'll be fine for now." She reassured before finally taking a bite

She followed him closely to the table, ensuring all of their stuff makes it on the table safely. "I had a feeling that that would be the case, which is the main reason I suggested it." She admitted with a happy hum, pausing before sitting down. "I didn't notice you'd already finished your drink. If you want I can run and get you something to drink with your pizza?" She offered, looking to him and tilting her head. To be fair, her drink is mostly gone now too, but she at least still has some.

The idea starts to snowball in her head, already figuring out what all she'd need to make it happen, and she is looking forward to getting to work on it. Looks like she's figured out how to spend her weekend, if she gets it off!
Though all productive (and self-deprecating) thoughts were derailed by his comment as she outright gawked at him. "You brat!" She laughed, moving to smack his arm before grabbed the food. No risking the food!
"Yes, let's go." She snorted, taking the lead out of the store to hold the door open for him as she thought. "I know there's a kind of small playground just a few minutes away that has some tables we can sit at?"

Lily flushed light pink, offering a small shrug. “I’m not really much of a photographer, honestly. It’s a hobby I picked up a few years ago but I haven’t done much with it lately.” She explained. “It’s a fun pass time, and a fun way to have physical memories of things.”
When he doubted that she would spend her weekend training, she snickered and offered a non-committal shrug. “I dunno, I have an awesome partner to try and keep up with.” She said playfully, even though she genuinely meant it. As much as she appreciates having a partner that can make up for her slack and clearly knows what he’s doing, it also encourages her to try that much harder to pull her own weight when they work together.
She glanced up when he did, trying to keep an ear out for when their food would be ready.

By the time he gets downstairs, he's already rubbing his eyes again as he knocks on the door.
Humming thoughtfully, she considered the suggestion. What would she do with the time off?
"I'm not sure? Probably depends on if anything else comes up... Maybe tackle some stuff around the apartment, or some training?" She doesn't want to go assuming he'd want to spend all of his time with her, after all. Surely he'd want to get some rest, or time to himself?
"Might track down my camera, do a little photography...?" She mused, more to herself. Her eyebrows furrowed, trying to remember when the last time she'd even used her camera was, and where she'd put it.

Hi pretty Lily 🥹 can I have a kiss please?
"Oh! I'm surprised that you want one from me, but of course!" She answered easily, her cheeks flushed pink. After a moment of consideration, she shifted to give you a very gentle kiss to the cheek.
"How is that? Or would you like something else?"
🎉🎊 Confetti Attack! 🎊🎉
Oh!! Is there a party? A prank? What did I miss??
Lily at least attempted to pay for their meal, sticking her tongue out at him as she stepped aside to wait with him.
"Then shouldn't you call me once you're caught up and ready for the rambling?" She asked, her tone both playful and genuine. She doesn't want to rush him after all, so it's better for it to be on his terms.
She took another sip of her drink, which was also mostly empty, though she didn't seem phased by the cold condensation.
"Maybe?" She hummed thoughtfully, absently chewing on the straw. "It would be nice, just get to relax for a bit."

Lily was caught off guard for just a moment at his attempt to imitate her, but she was quick to start giggling, elbowing him. Though she ended up leaning against him again for support through her laughter that she tried to keep under wraps to not draw too much attention to them.
"Oh shut up." She snorted, shaking her head. "Besides I'd be more upset about missing an episode of a TV show than I would be some celebrity news." She added playfully, beaming up at him.

Lily ended up giggling right alongside him, but nodded her agreement. He’s right that it’s best to just see what it’s like once they get there, no matter how much she may want to try and plan ahead.
“That’s true, and I don’t think either of us are going to complain about a good night’s sleep.” She mused playfully.
Once the pizza shop was within sight, she gently took his free hand in her own to tug him towards it. Since it was about lunch time it was getting busier, but fortunately they still had plenty of room to breathe.

Lily stuck her tongue out at him playfully in retaliation, snickering as he leaned into her in turn. “It’s almost as though I value your opinion or something.” She teased lightheartedly.
At the intersection she took the lead again, relieved that they aren’t terribly far from the pizza parlor. She doesn’t mind doing a lot of walking, of course! But she won’t complain about an opportunity to be lazy, either.
“That’s fair.” She hummed “Push comes to shove, we can always go to one of our places and sit on the balcony.” She added, in case they don’t want to risk dealing with people.

His answer prompts her to tilt her head as she looked up to him. "We don't have to if you think it would taste bad, of course." She reminded gently. "Just because we want to try something new doesn't mean we have to completely forgo all preferences, after all."
His suggestion to eat outside earned an eager nod in response. "I think eating outside is a great idea! We could eat at the park, maybe?" She hummed, trying to think of any other places that might be a good place to eat and people-watch.

Lily had a feeling that she had indeed figured out his plan, giggling quietly to herself. She took a moment to lean into him, the best sign of affection she could offer at the moment without risking their drinks.
She hummed thoughtfully at his suggestions, nodding along. "Bell peppers maybe? They'll add a nice refreshing aspect to it." She mused, enjoying the warmth of the sun and the security of having him so close.
As much as she knows she doesn't understand Xavier, she can't deny the comfort and safety he brings. She tries to her best to pull her own weight, to be alert, but it still pales in comparison to his own skills. So while it's just the two of them on a day off... She's willing to let herself indulge in letting her guard down for the time being.

With all the hype for the next chapter of Love and Deepspace, I felt inclined to try and figure out how I keep picturing Lily presenting herself in the N109 zone!
Xavier said it won't work if it's not intimidating enough, and she took that to heart and channeled her inner villain for her new aesthetic :P
Lily still found herself a little giggly as she motioned for Xavier to get comfortable on the couch while she gathered some blankets and other comfort items.
"Quiet days in tend to be the best anyways." She agreed with a content hum, joining him on the couch after she was satisfied with all of the soft-things she'd brought out for the two of them.

Does she do her best to be healthy and take care of herself? Of course.
Does she enjoy junk food as much as the next person? Absolutely.
So she hummed in agreement, laughing a little as she led the way to the nearest pizza shop. "So long as it isn't the only thing you eat this week, sure." She teased lightly. His thoughts about toppings earned some nods of agreement, snickering at vegetables being a second thought.
"We can try a few different meat and vegetable combinations, sure. I'm curious which ones would make good left overs, anyways."

Lily snorted at his shock, though it quickly devolved to proper laughter as she leaned into his side for stability. She had thought it was out of character for him to volunteer to go out, but was more than willing to roll with it if he had wanted to.
"Okay, okay. How about just a movie night with some snacks?" She offered, her eyes still scrunched up from her giggles. "And if you want, I can bring out all the silly little hair clips I have for you to play with, as retaliation for my ever-so-cruel suggestion we go out?" She teased lightheartedly.

Lily hummed as she considered, absently sipping her drink. "Ah, I get that." She chuckled sympathetically. Being hungry, but not knowing what for.
"Pizza then? It makes really good left overs, if we get more than we manage to eat." She offered, looking up towards him for his thoughts. Sure, he said she can decide, but she still cares about his opinion!
