I like to think while Anya was caring for Curly, she would talk to him. Rambling about various things, wether it was to vent, talking about the crew to let her captain know what was going on, or just the most mundane of things.

Even leading up to her final moments, despite Daisuke and Germbo calling for her, screaming for her to open the door and having to go another route to reach her.

She’d talk to Curly. Regardless if her voice trembled or cracked, no matter how much she shook or vision blurred from tears or to shut out the world by closing them. She would talk to him.

Sitting on the floor by his side, standing before him, or in a seat across from him.

She would talk to him, and he would listen.
