anyone else terrified that their story idea is secretly terrible but too stubborn to give up on it?
insane to think there was a time in my life where my characters didnât reside in my head 24/7
if youâre a fan of romance dramas that contain relatable topics but with a much needed healthy balance of comedic relief, love, and friendship, please give my book a chance<3
it is a romance drama book series that follows the lives and love stories of eight childhood best friends. tropes and dynamics range from:
grumpy x sunshine, i hate everyone but you, four core female group, brotherâs best friend, secret relationships, small town romance, found family, childhood best friends to lovers, itâll always be/itâll never be you, sapphic romance, slow burn romance, forbidden romance, one bed trope, and more!
this is my first time tackling a fictional universe and characters like this as a self-published indie author. itâs been the most fun, fictional adventurous learning experience ever<3
iâve always loved romance and writing. i love creating characters. i love being able to give them a story, name, personality, etc. not to sound dramatic, but itâs truly the most magical experience.
i just finished the second novel which should be out before the end of this yearđ§Ąđ§đŠđ
Your viewers can then make a choice to engage in your work. If they donât, they are simply looking out for their mental health so they donât get triggered emotionally. Which could be damaging. You actively lay out to the viewer what to expect going in.
A trigger warning also shows that you have respect for the topic youâre discussing. It also builds your followerâs respect and trust in you. Trigger warnings show that you are respecting your audience and putting them first.
You also respect mental health by doing this, showing that you understand the impact the topics are. You show empathy to the people you write your work to.
It promotes respectful writing. Writing that is mindful and humble.
You will not only get respect, but also keep some people safe mentally.
Me having a breakdown: *looks in the mirror* wait that gives me an ideaâŠ
Proceeds to write an angsty scene about my character having a breakdown thatâs totally not based off of my current emotions.

this!!
If youâre shrouded in writers block and desperately want to shoo it away to keep going with your WIP, it sometimes helps to delete the last few sentences/paragraph/scene and rewrite it. Sometimes you accidentally build dams in your creative stream and the only way around is to go back and break it down
I always get super sad when I realize I canât fit all the stuff I want in my story. Like yes, I KNOW youâve gotta kill your darlings and if you give in every time itâll turn into unorganized fan service mush but also have you ever considered-
GIMMMEEEE. You actually DO need my random cute scenario that doesnât move the plot forward and acts as pure brain candy. It canât just be a headcannon. It doesnât hit the sameeee. I need more time with my characters. I donât care if this book is as long as the damn BIBLE. Yes, you WILL sit through eight chapters of my main love interests figuring out how to make banana bread as stupid silly teenagers AND THEREâS NOTHING YOU CAN DO ABOUT IT
does anyone have any tips or ideas for getting your writing out there? pls & thx itâs rough in these indie author streetsđ
