In Denial // A Theo Raeken story

Chapter 6

Theo's pov:  (warning, a bit of violence in Theo's pov but none in Ruby's so if you want you can skip theos pov) (also update, Ruby's pov contains some hints of depression, anxiety, and mentions self harm. If you can't read, trust me, i completely understand. It was hard writing. All i want to say is that if you need help, if you are thinking of harming yourself in anyway, please ask for help. My messages are always open if you don't feel comfortable talking to anyone. I Promise i dont judge. Take care. Here is the chapter xoxo)

The dream always starts off the same way.

I wake up in the morgue. The box in which I lay is tight and dark, but beyond my feet, an infinite abyss streches out. I raise my arms over my head and push open the door to the box. It slams into the other boxes on the side and I take my arms out so I can push myself out. The cold metal trey that holds me slides out of the box and two legs, almost like a table, swing out from underneath the trey keeping me from falling on the hard tile floor. I sit up on my trey, finally out of the box and take a breath of fresh air.

The dream Isn't over yet.

I place my bare feet on the tiles and lift myself to a stand. The cool air in the morgue sends chills through my half naked body. I only wear a thin pair of basketball shorts. A woman's voice echos my name throughout the room. It repeats over and over and I get the feeling of it drawing me into it. I start to walk out of the room, pushing open the two swinging doors, but I hesitate. I know what's coming, but everytime I try to fight back, I fail. The voice rings louder as I push the doors open anyway, knowing there's no way out but through her. My sister.

I walk down to the end of the hallway, each step I take feeding me more fear than the last.

"Theo," the voice gets louder and louder as I get closer to the end. I take a stop once coming to the end of the hallway and in front of the check in desk of the hospital.

"Theo!" The voice growls from behind me. I snap around and see what I dreaded. A teenage girl, about my age,  crawls towards me on her hands and knees. Her gaze pierces through my horrified eyes as I look down at her chest. Her rib cages poke out of her and there is an empty spot in the middle. That is where her heart would be.

This is my punishment. I deserve this for doing it to her.

She finally reaches me and I can't move a single muscle in my body like I've been poisoned by canima venom. My sister drags me down by the heel and crawls on top of me, her gaze not once faltering. The horror on my face spreads to my whole body as I scream at the top of my lungs. She takes her hand and plunges into my center which makes me squirm and scream louder. She digs around in my chest for a second until she pulls out my heart. The blood from the organ drips everywhere as she puts it inside of her own chest. She shouts at me with almost the same power as Lydia, a banshee.

"Helloooo" I hear another voice in my head. I shake my head, finding myself standing in front of Scott's front door, a hand wavig in front of my face.

"Theoooo, you still alive over there?" I nod my head.

"Yeah, sorry I was just thinking." I rub the wrinkles on my forehead caused by my furrowed brows.

"Pretty vivid thought huh? You were blank for a good minute there." She reaches out for my hand. Why is she being so nice to me?

I take her hand in mine and then squeeze it in three short intervals. She smiles at me and we stand there for a good thirty seconds until she finally lets go of my sweaty hand and opens the door.

Everyone is here. Well, everyone that is left. The wild hunt has taken almost everyone in Beacon Hills. Ruby finishes explaining my reason for being here and I step further into the small, tidey home. There are photos lining the walls right when you walk in, like a story. They hang neatly and precise. Some pictures have multiple people in them, some are just some yearbook photos of Scott. Unfortunately, I don't spend long admiring the delicate memories of Scott's family when Ruby pulls my hand and drags me fully into the living room. A tall man stands in the room, and I immediately recognize him, but Ruby takes a minute.

"Who's he?" She asks.

Scott replies, "It's Peter. As in Peter Hale." Ruby's eyes go wide for a second.

"Ohhh. How could I forget? You. Evil bitch."

"Hey, hey, hey. No need for any language Ruby. I'm actually here to help. I know where Stiles is."

RUBYS POV:

Of course I don't completely trust Peter. I never will. Even though, technically, he's my alpha. He's the one who bit me. The morning after Scott got bit. When I started taking morning jogs.

"What makes you think I belive you? What do you want in return?" My voice echos through the silent room.

"In return, I would like you to trust me. You know, I bit you for a reason. I needed a pack. I needed more power. But- but that doesn't matter anymore. All I ask is that you help me help you save Stiles so we can get Malia out too." His eyes are full of sincerity. I feel bad for him. He loves Malia. I know it.

I remember as soon as he found out that she was his daughter, he had some sort of scent to him. I've never smelt it before and it reminded me of pride and happiness mixed together.

"We'll get her out I promise," Scott is the one to speak this time. Peter might be my only chance to see Stiles again. To get him back. I know Lydia feels the same. She probably misses him more than I. I've seen the way the two look at eachother. It's mesmerizing to watch. It's love.

We go through our idea of finding another rip in the two dimensions, the wild hunt and earth. Part of me thinks we have no hope. I feel like I'm the only one who thinks that. Everyone just seems so confident in everything. Especially Scott. That's why after the pack meeting. I go home and take a long, hot shower.

The water burns my skin to the touch when I step into the wet oasis. I left Theo in my room. Unoccupied, which is probably not a good idea, but I don't  acknowledge it at the moment. I'm only focused on the burning feeling. The feeling not only on the surface of my skin, but on the inside. I feel the left over bits of passion from today start to melt away at the heat. My body tenses up, but only for a second. I close my eyes and drift off into bliss. The water running all the way down my bare body. I run my fingers through my hair and breath in the steam that accumulates in the shower with me. My mind starts racing as my body finally gets used to the warmth of the water. I think, what would my life be like if I was only human. What would my life be like without Stiles.

And then the memories flood my head, making me slightly dizzy.

(Once again, warning)

I'm sitting on my bed, a knife in my hand. I remember this day. I was exausted. I had had an anxiety attack in class that day. Everyone looked at me weird when the teacher asked if I was alright. My breaths were shallow but quick. Stiles saw me immediately and dragged me out of class. I remember his voice apologizeing to the teacher. He carries me into the girls locker room, I'm still taking quick breaths. My heartbeat increased by a million from the time I was in the class to the time I was proped up against the shower walls. Stiles had delt with my attacks before but not at school. He gets them too sometimes. He was trying everything to get me to clam down. He squeezed my nose and coverd my mouth, trying to get me to hold my breath. It obviously didn't work. I was squirming everywhere. Until I wasn't moving. The only movement was my chest moving up and down and the water that now coverd my entire body. The water even got on Stiles' clothes. He turned the shower on. The warm water engulfed me like a volcano of relief.

When Stiles walked me down the hallways to the outside of school where the Sheriff's car sat, the bell rang. Everyone in their classes came flooding outside. I was drenched in school locker room shower water and I look like I almost drowned. Everyone stared. Everyone's eyes stayed glued to me as Stiles had to forcefully drag me outside to the ride he called.

Dad dropped us home and Stiles stayed with me until seven. I remember, because immediately after he left my room, I looked at the clock as I pulled the knife out of my drawer.  Every part of me begging to take some of the pain away. I wasn't a wolf yet, didn't even know about that stuff. I didn't want to just get high, partially because I didn't know how to, it was 8th grade. I had made the decision earlier that day. I had had too many embarrassing moments during the three years of my middle school carrier. I couldn't get away from myself.

I lifted my shirt to reveal the scars on my stomach. They were almost gone. I was going to be one month clean tomorrow. Not anymore.

(Okay we good now)

I jolt back to reality in the shower. The water is turning colder the longer I stay inside. I finish my normal shower routine and switch the water off. I grab a towel from its hanger in the bathroom, dry off a bit, and wrap it around my cold body. I look up at the fogged mirror and see a smiley face drawn in the steam and "-T". I let out a giggle.

A giggle, seriously? My inner voice complains. I remember what I'm doing, which is putting clothes on, and do that.

Once im fully dressed im my comfy black leggings, blue tee shirt, and some white ankle socks with a check on the side, I step out of the steamy room. A chill sweeps through me. I quickly race to the thermostat and turn the temperature up a hell of a lot. Theo must've turned it down.

I walk into my room, seeing Theo sitting on my bed. His legs hang off as he faces me. This reminds me of the last time he was sitting like this, a few weeks ago when I let him stay in the spare room.

It's only four o'clock.

"I'm starving," I realize out loud. Theo keeps his gaze on me. For some reason, he seems to be analyzing me. I grab his hand and pull him up so he's standing. "My dad's gonna be home at five, let's get you something to eat."

Once in the kitchen, we rummage through the kitchen for any signs of food. Apparently, nobody in Beacon Hills, no pay check for the Sheriff. That also means no groceries.

I hear the front door creak open and then slam shut.

"Hey, anybody home?" My dad shouts from the living room. I go wide eyed at Theo. Dad's not the biggest fan of this boy who went to hell.

"Yeah, um- wait. I'm not wearing pants!" I shout and Theo shoots me a devious glare. Yep. There's the boy who went to hell.

"Why- Ruby." He takes a deep breath. I'm never gonna live this down.

"Just stay there, dad. Let me go upstairs." Unfortunately for me, the stairs were in the living room. "Can you cover your eyes?" He grunts a response which I take as a yes. I put a finger to my mouth and direct it at Theo. Then I signal him to follow me. He does.

I give it a few minutes upstairs before I come back down. My dad stands awkwardly in the kitchen.

"There's no food." I say. "Wanna order a pizza? It has to be that place outside of Beacon Hills."

Hii again. It's em. How was this chapter?? Also hello new readers ily sm. Ooh i have a questionnn what's your favorite pizza topping? Mine's cheese and extra cheese. Xoxo -em

In Denial // A Theo Raeken story

Chapter 5

School went by like normal for a few days. Occasionally, the average student would be taken by the ghost riders. The population of Beacon Hills was diminishing by a very rapid pace. On Thursday, however, all of the teachers, principal and vice principal, and councilors finally went missing and school was finally shut down. The students knew something was wrong but couldn't quite figure it out. Coach was the only one who went to school on Thursday, and I know that because the pack was there.

"Where is everyone? What the hell is even this? Is there a holiday or something that I wasn't informed about?" Coach followed us down the halls as we walked to the library, desperate for answers on how to stop the wild hunt and the ghost riders.

"No, Coach, everyone is gone," Scott told Coach. "But, we are going to get them back."

"You better McCall. I'm not getting paid." And with that, Coach stormed off into his small office to do god knows what.

As per usual, we didn't come up with a plan that day Now, the Friday sun arose and my alarm clock jolted me awake. I leaned over the side of the bed to click it off. My eyes were still filled with gross morning crusties, which I generously rubbed off.

Downstairs, my dad was making breakfast for us. Just me and him again this morning.                      "Hey, sweetie. I'm making eggs for breakfast." He turned around from the stove and smiled at me.

"No work today?" I ask. He only shakes his head. There's barely anybody left to help. As the sheriff, he swore to protect the citizens of Beacon Hills county. Now that there is no one left, he doesn't have to.

"I'm going to go for a walk, dad," I shout from the living room after cleaning up after breakfast. I grab my canvas white tennis shoes and walk out the door. My dad knows I can take care of myself.

I jump into my car and drive to the woods where I usually take my morning jog. These are the same woods that Stiles dragged Scott to before sophomore year. I remember that day so well. Stiles wanted to find this dead body so bad. He was telling me about it all afternoon at home.

I enter the woods, following my same self-made trail. The trees sway to the soft summer breeze. All I'm wearing today is some black leggings, despite the summer heat, and a plain grey t-shirt from Stiles' closet. I love days like today where it's not too hot and not too cold. I brush my hand against the side of a tree as I walk past it. A laugh is forming inside my chest, something I haven't felt in weeks. The woods is where I feel free.  Ahead of me, I see something on the ground, next to a big oak tree. As I walk closer, I notice it's a boy. He's curled up next to the tree, his back is facing me.

"Hey, are you okay?" The boy turns around revealing his face. "Theo? What are you doing?" He sits up.

"I have nowhere to stay." Now I feel horrible about saying I didn't care. He finally stands up. "Ruby, what are you doing in the middle of the woods anyways. It's not safe."

"I could say the same to you, Theo." He looks like a stray dog who's been kept outside in the rain. his once fluffy hair is now flat and soaking wet.

"I can handle myself." He walks past me in the direction I came in.

"Theo." He stops but doesn't turn to me. "Let me take you to my house so you can get some clean clothes and a shower. You look horrible."

On the car ride home, we say nothing. My dad left to meet Scott. At least thats what the note left in the kitchen says. I lead Theo upstairs and show him the spare bathroom that I call mine.

"Wait here." I walk into Stiles' room, which I haven't done in a few weeks. The room still smells like him. Everything is where it normally is. After my dad uncovered his room, we left the red strings up. They flow from one side of the room to the other, up and down, in all directions. They mesmerize me. I stand in the doorway admiring his detective board, his desk, and his bed.

I remember when Stiles and I were little, before mom died, we would sit on his bed and played action figures and Barbies. One time he lost his Batman figure and we looked for hours to find it. Turns out it was under his pillow the whole time.

I cover my mouth with my hand, trying not to let out a sob. Everyday we waste trying to figure out how to defeat the ghost riders is a day where Stiles is stuck somewhere. Somewhere probably scary.

I feel a pair of hands on my shoulder. They pull me away from the door frame, and one hand lifts off to close the door.

"Hey, it's okay." Theo says. He pulls me into a tight hug. I wrap my hands around his waist as he squeezes me tighter. He kisses the top of my head. I've never felt so protected, so safe.

No, I can't think that. I pull away and look him in the eyes. They shimmer from the bathroom lights that leak into the empty hallway. Which reminds me...

"You need a shower." He laughs.

"Well, now so do you." He walks towards Stiles' room again, opening the door. He lets himself in and picks out a shirt, a pair of jeans, a flannel, and some boxers. He shuts the door behind him and walks into the bathroom. Before shutting the door I hand him a clean towel, and he stops to wink at me. Then he closes the door and a few minutes later I hear the water running. I go back to my room and pick out some clothes to change into. I put on a pair of high waisted blue jeans, a soft, creme colored sweater, and a small gold necklace Stiles gave me last year for Christmas. I pull my hair down from the ponytail I had in and ran my hands through my hair a few times.

Theo takes a short shower, 15 minutes  to be exact. When he's done, we comes back into my room, wearing the new, clean clothes. He carries his towel in his hands.

"Wow," He says.

"What?" I ask him as he sits on the chair next to my desk.

"You look... good." I blush.

"Thanks." I grab my purse filled with my phone, some lip gloss, my wallet, and extra hair ties. "Okay you're coming with." I grab his towel and throw it on my bed. Then, I grab his hand and pull him downstairs.

"Should I be wondering where we are going?" He says as I get in my car.

"Pack meeting." I glance at the clock in my car. It's only 11. The pack meeting is scheduled for 12. "But first lunch. I'm starving and I bet you are too." He nodds his head viciously.

"Yes please."

I drive into the parking lot of my favortie diner, Brandon's. My mouth is watering just thinking about some french fries. Thankfully, Brandon's is right outside of Beacon Hills, so there should be workers.

Theo walks ahead to hold the door to the diner for me. How sweet.

"Thanks," I say.

"Least I could do." He smiles.

"Ruby!" I turn to the counter inside the restaurant.

"Isaac!" I walk over to my friend Isaac who greets me with a smile as per usual. "How've you been?" I ask.

"Pretty good. You know, the usual. Who's thissss? You must be a friend of Ruby's." He turns his attention to Theo.

"I'm Theo, nice to meet you." Theo holds out his hand to Isaac, who shakes it. I've never seen Theo be so polite.

"Yes, nice to meet you too Theo. Anyways, you know the drill Rubs. Sit wherever, someone will help you shortly." I smile and wave goodbye to Isaac who waves back.

Theo and I find a seat near the back. We sit across from eachother.

"Who was that?" Theo asks.

"My friend Isaac. He used to live in Beacon Hills but lives in Orange county, which is only two towns over." He nods.

"Cool."

Our food arrives and Theo immediately scarfs it down. He probably hasn't eaten in days. My burger and fries turns out good as usual. When we are done eating, we drive to Scotts house. Everyone's car is here. The time on the clock reads 12:15. Crap.

"Okay, when we go inside they are going to be a little mad. But that's okay."

"A little?" He ask sarcastically.

"Okay, a lot. But... don't get mad because that will make things worse. You know how they are." He nods. "I need you. Even though I have to hate you." He frowns at that.

"You don't have to," he persuades me. But no, I have to stick with my pack.

"I do. Because your the bad guy. And I hate saying that but it's really hard to trust you. Actually, it's pretty hard for anyone to trust you."

"I know." He puts his hand on top of mine, which rests on the shifter in my jeep. "But, I'm trying to fix that. I need to tell you thank you." I smile. I put the car in park and take my foot off the break. Theo finally lets go of my hand. We both step out of the car and wal to the front door.

"Remember what I said?" I say, more of a statement than a question. He looks at me in understanding.

Chapter 5!!!! Wow okay I have the perfect plot planned and i hope yall like it. Chapter 6 will be up soon.

In Denial // A Theo Raeken story

Chapter 4

A/n: Theo, in this story, came back to beacon hills in junior year.

(3 weeks later)

I walked into school early. By early, I mean it's six in the morning. School doesn't start till seven thirty. Every year on the first day, the pack meets in the library. This year, it's Scott, Lydia, Mason, Corey, and me. Everyone else had gotten caught by the ghost riders. Yeah, it's hard without Stiles. I've talked to him through the radio of his jeep before. My "mom" is still here and she scares the living crap out of me. I think she knows about everything going on. I mean, she knows about the supernatural, but we never told her we know she isn't real. She will sometimes stand in my doorway and stare.

I get the shivers as soon as I think about her.

My walk down to the library is long. I decided to go the inside way. The air outside is too cold, and it's supposed to rain soon. I hear something behing me and pick up my pace, immediately thinking back to the dream I had just a few weeks ago. I take a quick glance behind me before putting my hand on the door to the library. Nobody there.

I try to pull the handle but it wouldn't budge. Sounds of heels clicking in the distance scares me. I turn to the noise and see Mrs. Martin walking towards me, her eyes not swaying away from mine.

"Safe space remember? Library doesn't open until seven." She just walks right past me as she speaks, her voice echoing throughout the halls. Again, I hear another noise from down the hallway. I see what's left of the pack walk down towards me.

"You gonna open the door, Ruby?" Scott asks. I shake my head.

"It's locked." I say. I turn to Lydia. "Your mom locked it. Said it doesn't open until seven."

"Ugh. What?" Lydia groans.

Mason jumps in, "Isn't it supposed to be open for twenty four hours?"

"Yes." I reply. "We can just go into an empty classroom." Everyone nodds at the idea. Classroom it is.

We pick an empty class down the hall, one without any decorations so we know a teacher won't come in later.

"So, we need a plan." Scott announces.

"We have-" Mason gets cut off by Lydia.

"Liam's plan to use Theo sucks. Scott's right, we need a new one."

Speaking of Theo, after the lake we never talked. I have no idea where he went or what he's doing.

I don't "miss" him. How could I? He's not a good person, and I'm glad I haven't seen him again.

After and hour and a half of chatting in the class room, the warning bell goes off, signaling us to go to class. I say my goodbyes and walk with Scott to first period. Ap chemistry.

We turn into classroom 323 and sit in our assigned seats. Thankfully, I got seated next to Scott. Unfortunately, there are three seats to the lab table and when I look over at the name on the index card taped to the front of the table, I sigh. "Of course."

"What was that, Ruby?" Scott asked.

"Look at the name tag," I reply.

Then, like I summoned the devil, he walks in. Smile on his face and everything.

"Here's my name." Theo says, not even looking at the tag, but to me. That dumb smirk still on his face.

It's gonna be a long semester.

After three class, Theo followed Scott and I down the hallway to lunch. Scott has my first three classes with me, thankfully. I might die without him there. I haven't seen stiles in three weeks.

Scott wispers loud enough for me to hear. "Theo stop following us." I can smell the arrogance off Theo right now. He doesn't say anything back, just takes a sharp right turn into the mens room.

When we meet everyone in the cafeteria, they all look at me.

"What?" I ask. Lydia is the first to speak up.

"Girl, we've been seeing Theo staring at you all day." I blush. "Do you like him?!" That makes everyone stare at me even more.

"No, what? Of course not?" After saying that I hear a growl in the corner of my ear. I turn around, quickly, to see who it was, but no one was there.

"Ruby, are you okay?" I heard Scott say to me. He said it low enough so nobody else heard.

"Yeah, just thought I heard something."

After lunch, I go to my locker and get my text book for my last class, forensics. Stiles had that class with me. He was the only one in the pack who was taking it with me.

I opened my locker. As soon as the door came open, a small note fell out. I picked it up and looked around to see if anyone was watching me find the note. I unfolded the small slip of paper and read it.

Meet me under bleachers after tryouts.

We need to talk.

I totally forgot about tryouts today. My 4th year being on the highschool lacrosse team. My last year being on any lacrosse team. I wish Stiles was here. I really miss him.

After I got back from the lake that day with Theo, Stiles called me and said he saw them. The ghost riders. He saw them. I drove over to the school as fast as I could, but Lydia told me I was too late. It took us a whole week and a half to remember him after that day.

My last class ended, finally. I litterly felt like I could die. We didn't even learn about forensics, we just went over some stupid class rules.

I walked to the locker room, catching up with Scott along the way. We didn't talk the whole way. I know he misses Stiles too.

Tryouts went by as normal, we did some drills and did some one on ones. I made first line like last year, and Scott made team captain again. I had almost forgot about the note until Scott asked if I wanted to get celebratory icecream.

"Oh. I'm actually supposed to meet someone." He gave me a funny look.

"Who?" He asked as he slung his lacrosse bag over his shoulder, walking down the hallway of the empty school.

"I actually don't know." He stopped walking and tilted his head slightly. I just kept walking. "Bye McCall." I shouted behind me.

"Bye. Be safe." And with that I went to the field once again, but not for lacrosse.

A figure was already standing under the bleachers. I couldn't see his face that well since coach turned the field lights off. Only the lights coming from the building illuminated the back of the figure. He stepped foward, and i still couldn't see him. It's so dark.

"What do you want?" I asked to the figure, taking more steps towards me. He finally came about three inches away from me. I could finally see the outline of his face, looking up. His height making him tower over my short body. "Theo?"

"We need to talk, Ruby."

"About what? What could you possibly want to tell me that is so important you have to meet me under the bleachers at ten pm?" He smirked.

"I can't stop thinking about you." I rolled my eyes and turned around, but didn't get far. His hand planted a firm grip around my wrist.

"Theo let go. I'm not becoming another one of your little flings. I need to focus on Stiles." He growled and I recognized it from the growl in the cafeteria. I turned towards him.

"Did you mean what you said in the cafeteria?" He asked, his voice suddenly soft.

"Theo let go, please. Your hurting me." He let go immediately after I said it hurt.

"Im sorry." He said soothingly. "But did you mean it?" I sighed.

"Theo I can't be with you. You're the bad guy." His face contorted into confusion. I think I hurt him.

"What about the lake, the- the spare room."

I immediately replied, "I was just trying to be nice. And I regret ever doing it." No, no, no. I don't regret it. I don't.

Theo just sighed and walked off.

"Wait-"

"Ruby, don't talk to me." He never turned back to me, just kept on walking.

Hiii. Again. I kinda like this chapter. Let me know what you think. Love you guys

In Denial // A Theo Raeken story

Chapter 3

I'm taking my normal morning jog in the woods, something I haven't done in weeks because of the ghost riders. The air is cool and feels wonderful on my newly sweaty skin. The branches on the trees sway gently in the wind, leaves occasionally swirling to the ground. A beautiful fall morning. I smile. I slow my pace to a fast walk instead of a jog, catching my breath. For breakfast this morning I had some chocolate chip muffins I made the night before. The chocolate taste still lingers in my mouth, making me hungry for more.

Behind me, I hear a twig snap. I immediately turn to the noise, seeing a tall man in a hat. I couldn't see his features, because the sun hadn't fully come up. His hand rested on his hip, like there was something there.

"What do you want." I slowly ask to the figure. I know exactly who he is.

"Failure." Behind him comes three dread doctors, who I could now see in result of the quickly rising sun. I could also see the face of the ghost rider. The doctors seemed to materlize out of the rider. More and more stepped out from behind the ghost rider and three dread doctors turned into hundreds. I ran as fast as I could in the opposite direction. I've never run faster in my life.

"Uby. Ruby. RUBY!" A familiar voice rang in my head as I ran faster and faster, the doctors right behing me. Then, I realized I wasn't moving. I was running in place.

"RUBY!"

I snapped awake, screaming bloody murder. I felt hands on my arms but they weren't the dread doctors or the ghost rider.

"Hey, hey, you're okay. Ruby, you're okay. Breathe." I look to my right hearing the familiar voice again. Theo is kneeling on the floor next to my bed. I slow my breathing to a normal pace.

"How did you know?" I ask.

He replies, "I heard your heartbeat. It woke me up from my beauty sleep."

"Beauty sleep?"

"Yeah," he says. "You aren't the only one who cares about how they look." And with that, typical Theo Raeken is back. I turn to look at my wooden nightstand to the right of my bed. The digital clock flashes twelve o'clock. The power must've gone out considering the sun shining through my transparent white curtains.

"What time is it?" I rub my eyes, removing the crust and leftover mascara. I forgot to take off my makeup. I probably look like a shipwreck.

Theo grabs my phone on my dresser, clicks it on, and reads out the time on the lock screen. He smiles. Probably a result of the lock screen picture, Stiles and I sitting on a dock next to Lydia's lake house.

"8:45." Good, my dad already left for work. School is supposed to start in three weeks, so I've been sleeping in. No morning jogs. Now I really won't be able to go on a jog. That dream shook me up.

"Do you have any plans for today?" Theo asks.

"Not until one. Lydia and I are picking up Stiles and going to Applebee's."

"Applebee's? Of all places, Stiles chose Applebee's for his 18th birthday?" I guess he read the note I must've dropped in the hallway. I don't see it on my dresser.

"Well, he hasn't really experienced a fancy lunch or dinner except Applebee's. If you couldn't tell by my house, my family's not the richest." I take my phone out of his hands. "Anyways, since I'm not busey this morning, do you want to do something?" Why did I just ask that? I'm not even supposed to have him in my spare room. Why did my brain think it would be okay to ask him to do something with me?

"We could go to the lake." He stands up and walks past my closet on the opposite wall of my bed. He stops at my dresser. Looking through the dresser.

"What the hell are you doing?" He doesn't reply. When he finds what he is looking for, he pulls out my favourite bathing suit. A plain, red, high-waisted one-piece.

"Put it on," he says, throwing it to me. I catch it while my eyes stay glued to his.

"What gives you the righ-"

He cuts me off. "Let's go to the lake." I roll my eyes eternally. I think for a few minutes, looking at Theo, then the swim suit, then Theo again.

"Fine." I grunt. "But we have to be back by ten so I can pack an extra outfit for the party."

"Party?" He asks, intrigued. No no no.

"Yes, and you are most definitely not invited." He frowns.

"Why not princess?" I stand up from my bed and I walk over to my closet.

"Scott's gonna be there. Also it's my brother's birthday, and I'm not letting you ruin it." I grab a long, baggy shirt from one of my hangers and walk out of my room.

After changing into my bathing suit and putting on the shirt and some shorts that I found on the bathroom floor, I walk out of the bathroom. Theo makes me jump a little by standing right in front of the door.

"Can we also stop by and get my truck from the tow yard?" I walk downstairs as he follows. I shouldn't of let him stay the night. Now he thinks he can do whatever he wants.

"No. I'm not letting you drive and I'm not paying the tow man an unreasonable amout of cash to get your piece of crap truck out." I can practically smell his dissatisfaction. "Sorry, but I'm doing enough for you already."

He mumbles something that I shouldn't be able to hear without my supernatural hearing.

"My truck isn't crap."

When I start the car I realize Theo isn't wearing swim trunks. As if he could hear inside my mind, he says, "My trunks are in my truck b-t-w." I grunt. Here's a challenge, take a shot evertime Theo makes me mad. There's your one way trip to alcohol poisoning.

I turn off the car and turn to Theo.

"If you move even an inch, I will slit your troat and take it OUT of your body." I smile sarcastically. "Okay?" The preppy-ness in my voice seems to annoy him. "Be right back." And with that I grab a pair of old swim trunks from Stiles' drawer.

Why am I doing this?

Yo yo yooo. Okay hi. Did you like the 3rd chapter. It was kinda kyute in my opinion. Still not getting a lot of reads but thats okay. As long as I make one person smile. Anyways I'm proud of this chapter. I wrote it in under 30 mins with little errors. Sorry if I didn't catch some mistakes, I'm working on getting better. In Denial // A Theo Raeken story

Chapter 2

Chapter 1 link below

https://voidstu.tumblr.com/post/185806800855/in-denial-a-theo-raeken-story

On my way to Lydia's house, I received another text.

LIAM: Please understand I had to do it.

I ignored the text, still upset about the issue that occurred earlier today, and continued my drive to Lydia's. Stiles' birthday is tomorrow and Lydia and I need to finish decorating the lake house. I've actually been planning this party for my brother, with Lydia, for a while. He means the world to me. I really hope the current situation doesn't ruin his special day. His 18th birthday.

Actually, Stiles and I have the same birthday. We're twins. Ever since Stiles and I turned five, we decide to have separate birthday parties. Then we got into the conflict of having the party on the actual date of our birth, so we switch off every other year. And I love it.

For the past three months, Stiles has been begging me to convince Lydia to have the party at the lake house. Somehow, Lydia convinced her mom, and now we have a lake house. A much bigger space for a party rather than the usual location, Scotts house.

I pull into Lydia's long driveway and up to her humongous mansion-type house. It's like a castle compared to my tiny, dirty house. The grass looks freshly cut and the bushes, neatly trimmed into little spheres. I get out of my car, opening the trunk. Inside the trunk are two cardboard boxes stuffed to the brim with streamers, deflated balloons, and different variations of party banners.

Lydia aproaches my car with her signature curly, strawberry blonde hair and neat smile.

"Need a hand, sweetie?" She takes a box in her arms and frowns at me. "How much stuff did you bring?" She says. She wears a casual dress with her usual heels. Her dog, Prada, prances out from behind her a jumps on my leg. I pet her on the head for a few seconds and look back at Lydia.

I reply, "Enough for a good party." She snorts and carries the box to the trunk of her car, which also has boxes with snacks and miscellaneous pieces of silverware and paper dishes. I follow her with the second box and I close my trunk, as she does her's.

"Got the cake?" I ask. She opens the door to the backseat and points to a small box holding a delicious looking cake coverd in light blue icing. About the same color as Stiles' Jeep.

"Of course dear. How could I forget?" She shuts the door, opening the drivers door.

I hop in the passengers side of the vehicle, and we head to the lake house.

Thirty or so minutes later, we arrive.

After two and a half hours of hanging streamers and filling the fridge with snacks, we finally finish setting up for the party. Lydia drives me back to her house, in which I picked up my car and left for my house. I tiredly open the front door, locking it behind me. The time on the clock hanging on the living room wall says nine o'clock.

"Dad, Stiles, I'm home!" No reply. I walk into the kitchen, expecting to see someone, but nobody was there. I run upstairs to check Stiles' room. Nobody either. Upon glancing at his bed, I spot a small sticky note, pressed lightly against the duvet covers. I pick it up and read it.

Hey Ruby, I'm staying at Scott's tonight. Dad told me to tell you he has a late shift again. See you tomorrow!! I'm so excited! Can you believe we are almost 18?! Anyways, love you sis. Cya.

I laugh at the note. Another note to add to the box full I have stored in my room. Nice, I have the whole house to myself.

I walk down the hallway a bit and into my room. I quietly close the door behind me. I turn around and immediately scream. I catch my breath when I realize it's not an intruder but it's just six foot one Theo Raeken.

"WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING IN MY HOUSE?! AND MY ROOM! ON MY BED!!" Theo didn't move from his position, sitting  on the edge of my bed.

"I kinda don't have a place to stay." He gives me a shy smile. I've never seen Theo without his signature cocky grin so this was a strange look on him.

"Yeah okay but what made you think you could stay at my house? You know Stiles AND the sheriff live here."

"You were the only one I could trust." He rubs the back of his neck, anxiously, not pointing out the fact he has a black duffel bag sitting on the bed next to him. Theo is the last person I'd ever want in my room, let alone on my bed.

"You have Scott. You have the pack. I have no one. I figured you might be kind enough to let me stay. At least on the couch or in a spare room." His voice was soft as he continued. I couldn't help but feel bad for him. He was right. He has nobody.

"Stiles is staying at Scott's and my dad is coming home late. I can't risk you on the couch but I could get some clean blankets so you could stay in the spare room." He smiled at that. "However," I start, "If my dad catches you, I'm not covering for you."

"Deal." He stands up and grabs his things as I lead him to the spare room.

"Stay here, I'll go get some blankets."

When I got back to the room, Theo was sitting on the bed like before, his bag on the ground.

"Thank you for doing this, Ruby."

"Don't expect it again." And with that, I left him with the blankets, closing the door, and tucking myself into my nice, warm bed. Before falling asleep I think to myself since when am I nice to Theo Raeken? And with that thought, I close my eyes and fall asleep.

Hiiiii. It's em aka rappsmoonlight or voidstu. How are you enjoying the story? I would LOVE to hear feedback or suggestions.  Maybe leave a comment about your predictions on the next chapter. I know not a lot of people are reading this. It's June 22 (a day after I posted the first chapter) I'm going to write often so you can count on new chapters soon. Please please please share with your friends. It would mean the world to me. I love you all sm. Xoxo -em

In Denial // A Theo Raeken story

Chapter 1

Word count: 505

Ruby and Theo haven't had the friendliest past, but when Theo comes back from hell, all he can think about is her.

The day started off pretty normal. I got up, made my bed, brushed my teeth, and twisted my long, dirty blonde hair into a loose ponytail. That was the only normal part of the day.

My phone made a buzzing noise, signaling me to grab it. The screen lights up with a text message from Liam.

LIAM: Meet me at the clinic.

Confused, I replied to the text.

RUBY: I swear dunbar, if this isn't important im gonna murder you.

I clicked off my phone, grabbed my keys from off the counter, and drove to the animal clinic.

That was when I realized today would not be a normal day.

I opened the door to my new, grey Jeep after switching off the engine. Hopping out, I heard a strange sound from inside the clinic. I shrugged it off thinking it was probably just Liam. Maybe the whole pack will be there. If that's the case, why didn't Scott just text me? Or Stiles? I slowly move over to the door of the clinic, stopping to take a deep breath. The door opens to the pull of my hand and I enter the building. I walk past the small swinging door beside the front desk, hearing Liam's voice. And Hayden's. Before reaching the entrance to the back room, I stop. There are three heartbeats. I continue my journey to the back and when I walk through the doorway, I'm greeted by Liam, Hayden, and, strangely by a smiling figure. I immediately turn around on my heels and a hand grabs me, forcing me to turn back around.

"I know, I know. You don't have to say it. We had no choice." Liam's voice sooths me. I flash him an angry glare.

"What is he doing here." I point to the figure who reacts with a deep, short laugh.

"Aren't you happy to see me?" He starts. "I'm happy to see you."

"Shut up Theo," Hayden blurts. The tension in the room is unbelievable.

Theo and I have a stupid story. When he first came to Beacon Hills looking for Scott's pack, my brother, Stiles, and I knew he was up to something fishy. In the end, we were right. My quest of trying to avoid Theo untimely failed due to Raeken's constant flirtatious conversations. After he got sent to visit his dead sister, I felt regret. I mourned.

For weeks.

Stiles eventually set me straight and made me believe he deserved it. The truth is, nobody deserves that. Not even Theo.

It's strange though, to see him back. It's like he was never gone. But he was, and I know that. I just wonder if the secret he told me before he went to hell was true.

"What is going on?" My voice being the only sound in the room.

"He's gonna help us defeat the ghost riders," Liam stated in a happy tone. Theo hasn't taken his eyes off me since I walked in the room. I also haven't taken my eyes off him.

To all my favorite writers who inspired me to write. (I've already written 3 chapters and posted on Watt but I wanted to post here too.)
