Validation

🌟 As little babies, and then toddlers, our lives depend on validation. We need others to mirror and reflect what we feel, to know that each emotion is normal. We crave an explanation and mediation of these strange new sensations inside us—feelings. 💓

But if our surroundings never provided such validation or weren't capable of giving it, our need to feel seen and know that we are normal as we are faces a significant obstacle. 😢

However, my friend, it's never too late to learn to understand and believe to your body, your sensations, and your emotions, no matter how strange or strong they might feel. Even if they seem out of control, it might be because they, and the little you, haven't been seen for too long. 🥺

Upon learning to listen to ourselves, we first encounter some intense stuff. But with a tiny flame of hope and compassion, step by step, we might find relief—which is valuable for every part of your life that follows. 🌱 Sending you soft, loving validation, and know that with all your unique and different parts, you are normal as you are. To exist is to be a normal part of this life, just as you are. 💖 🌈🌸

Many artists worry about what others will think of their work. Just remember that there will always be people who like what you do, and people who don't like it. There will always be people who agree and others who will always have something to say about it. The fear of not pleasing everyone sows confusion within you and can hold you back. Do what you love with honesty, create what makes you tick, work with rigor and sincerity, follow your instincts ! Whatever your art, do it first and foremost for yourself, as you are, because the only fear any artist should have is that of not being themselves.

good things to pay attention to more often

the color of trees

clouds and how they look different throughout the day

the different colors the mornings can have. sometimes it's an orange hue and sometimes pink and sometimes it's too misty to tell

pretty color schemes in random places (the trees and your neighbors wooden patio and the color of their car)

the states of the vehicles passing you by, dents and scratches and the different trinkets suspended from their rearview mirrors

the sound of silence

the shadows the lights cast in your home, like how sunset looks different than sunrise, and the shadows the sun casts look different than those of your lamps and candles

pretty details in buildings and houses like certain types of windows or doorknobs or archways

the movement of things in the wind. flags, leaves, flowers, people's hair and coats

you'll never feel ready, and while there's fear and anxiety in that, there's also a decent amount of freedom and joy. you'll never feel ready, but that won't stop life, and whatever needs to happen will, and you'll survive it. you'll outgrow it, and the version of yourself you thought you were. you'll build yourself up from the scratch, and you'll start again. and then again, you won't feel ready, but with uncertainty there's possibility, and adventure, and hope. just make sure you're there for the ride! keep it going, baby, you got it!!💛
