btw while people continue to fight the system don't forget about Undue Medical Debt (formerly RIP Medical Debt), a charity that buys and forgives medical debt. on average a donation of $10 will forgive $1,000 of medical debt.
Today in Queer Black History Month, I'm celebrating early 19th century transgender sex worker, pickpocketer, and master scammer Mary Jones who made a healthy living fleecing wealthy white johns who never reported the thefts because they didn’t want their conservative peers to know they had a fetish for black trans women. She was eventually charged with grand larceny when someone turned her in to the police. The anti-abolitionist media mocked and humiliated her during her trial. But Jones appeared in the NY courtroom “neatly dressed in female attire, elegant, and in perfect style," and completely unbothered in a voluminous white dress, snow-white earrings, and a gold-gilded comb, despite the hordes who waited in the courtroom to jeer and prod her. When asked why she dressed in women's clothing by the court, Jones replied because she looked good in them and because her community had always accepted her that way — Mary Jones, y'all, making them eat it, all the way back in 1836. Jones was convicted of grand larceny and released after five years in prison, at which point she was arrested again for dressing as a woman. She served an additional five months. Upon her release this time she disappeared from recorded history. 🏳️🌈

Hey, so TERRIBLE timing, but I've just had some news dropped on me that something FUCKING AWFUL has happened, and now my status as a housed person is QUESTIONABLE Please, if you can, take a read and support! Even sharing around will help!
Hey there.
I'm Synth, or Harper, I'm an Oregon based Voice Actor who's been slowly making my way into the field professionally. I've been struggling most of my life in poverty, and only recently started to get a foothold on my life, the problem is, just as I'm about to round a corner on things, my father, who's been neglectful for years, didn't pay child support when my family seperated, and then paying practically nothing all, despite my mother raising me and my sister.
My mother finally convinced him to do something for us several years ago, making a place where we could get our grounding and be safe.
He has, JUST today, New years eve. Revealed that he has now, completely changed his mind, lied when he made the commitment to help and is now kicking us out of the home.
This is a terrifying moment in my life, and now I only really have the thought of I need to get the hell out of this terrible situation.
He's demanding a rent I can't possibly pay, kicking my mother out of the house, and leaving my sister and I with no possible chance to figure things out.
I hate to ask for support, I don't like feeling like a leech, but I have no other options I can think of... Please, I'm asking for your help. I'm scared and want to move out of this situation, and 30,000 is the only number I can think of that will let me uproot everything and establish myself somewhere new, with some time to get my barings, even a dollar donation is appreciated.
@amalashuor was studying for her Master's in French before everything was brought to a halt by the increasing violence of the genocide in Gaza, as well as raising a baby. Both are extremely hard to do now under the conditions they are living in.
If you can donate, please do, and if you will not, please reblog.
What else, what else- I'd say Stay tuned for silliness this month! I've been sick most of September so I've been running a little behind, but I'm excited to celebrate Halloween 1st and the rest of the month!
Here, take this very funny png in the meantime! I put those dewy little Wet eyes on that pumpkin and I felt everything...
See you in... Throughout October!
More pics!

I've been watching European news channels, and there's been a massive power outage across Spain, Portugal, and southern France. The only reason some stations were even able to report on it was because they had generators to keep their broadcasts running and update the public. No one knows the cause yet — some suspect a cyberattack, while others believe it could be a climatological event.
Restoring electricity is the top priority, since nearly everything depends on it.
Cell phones aren't working, not even landlines, and there's no Wi-Fi either. There are no traffic lights, no trains, and no metro service. People have been trapped for hours in elevators and on trains. Hospitals are struggling to keep their backup generators running. Airports are at a standstill, and travelers can't even book hotels, leaving them stranded.
Nearly all the stores are closed because cash registers (and security system) won't work without electricity, so people can't buy food, candles, batteries, or even gasoline. Some people can't even access ATMs, and without cash on hand, they're fucked. And of course, food is spoiling in homes, stores, and restaurants, and with no way to heat it, many are being forced to eat it cold.
I can only imagine how much worse it would be if this had happened during extreme winter or summer temperatures, when staying warm or cool would be critical.
This situation really shows how unprepared most people are if something even worse were to happen. It's not a big deal if the power is out for an hour or two, but 10+ hours? That's a different story. This is why it's so important to have an emergency bag or stash. Make sure it includes a first-aid kit, flashlights, candles, fire starters, blankets, canned food, and water — along with a portable radio, ideally one that charges by solar power or a hand crank instead of batteries.
Seriously, it's better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it.
