For The Alterhuman Ask Game!!

For the alterhuman ask game!!

best/favorite thing about being nonhuman?

worst/least favorite thing about being nonhuman?

Hello!!!

Best/favorite thing about being nonhuman?:

This is hard because we love a lot of things about being nonhuman! Honestly, the best way to sum it up, though, is by saying that our favorite thing about being nonhuman is just that, lol. It's being nonhuman, being creatures, being animals, just all of that, lol.

Worst/least favorite thing about being nonhuman?:

This one is also hard, but it's cause we don't really have a least favorite thing if we are just talking about being nonhuman. Our least favorite thing would probably be something about how a lot of other beings might not see us for what and who we are.

Hopefully, these were good answers!

Gonna just explain more.

Our back is more sensitive, especially to pain, and I (the host) almost always have my phantom wings. Sometimes, it's more prominent than others.

- Shay (They/it) | The host

a poll for the wing-havers

for me, my back has always felt much more sensitive than the rest of my body, to the point of feeling uncomfortable being touched there. sometimes when people touch my back i jump as a reflex, but not if they touch the rest of my body. i wanted to know if this is a common experience in wingedkin, so please answer the poll to satiate my neverending hunger for knowledge :}

I'm gonna start calling ourself a system/plural, I don't know the exact origin yet, cause I don't know if I had "enough" trauma at the "right" time for it to be DID or OSDD or any other dissociative disorder. But it feels like we are a system/plural.

We will only really be doing this here, I am unsure if I am gonna tell anyone I know in real life for now. I might wait till I figure out our origin, and even then, it would only be a few people that I would tell.

This feels like the right words and terms for what we feel. I will just be using system and plural for us as terms until I figure out more, of course.

questions! 1, 4 and 21 :}

This post is gonna be long, so if you want to read it, press the "keep reading" thing!

1. Kintypes?

Ok, gonna answer for all of us who are known, lol. We are working on making/creating some packmates that aren't included in this post.

For me, it's wolf, dog, cat, crow, and ockins (Zuki, Cyan, and Akay. Zuki is MHA/BNHA, Cyan is RWBY, and Akay is DDLC). And then also "mixtures" of the previous ("actual") animal kins (such as wolfdog, cat + crow, etc). I might actually have more kins than this, but these are the known ones.

We have Shirley, who shifts between multiple (if not all) medium and big dog breeds [and some other canines, like wolves and foxes]. There is also Lynix, who shifts between multiple kinds of felines (domestic cat breeds, lions, etc). Declan is a cat. Den is a dragon.

Mystery and Lakey are hard to actually pinpoint what they actually are, lol. But they aren't human.

We have (oc) fictives as well. We don't know whether to really count them for their "fictiveness," but they do fit under the alterhuman and nonhuman communities, and they use those terms, so we will talk about them a bit. Vesper is a fallen angel from the Helluvaverse (if you [general you] don't like that we have a Hazbin Hotel/Helluva Boss fictive than just block us pls). Okami is a werecreature from MHA/BNHA [my cousin!!!]. Oynx is a wolfdog animatronic from FNAF. Phalen is a werecreature from the Harry Potter universe [not sure what timeline they are from, lol]. Moonfire is a tiefling dragon mix from DND [we have never actually played DND in this life sadly].

We also have a "subsystem" (we call it a subpack, lol. As we use pack instead of system) that is fictive(s) from Encanto [we are bodily white, so if this upsets anyone, just block us please]. We aren't gonna go into any real detail about this subpack, but we will say that none of them are (actually) human, lol.

4. Favorite kintype?

This is hard, lol. For the longest time, I was mainly talking about Zuki, but I don't think I would call Zuki my "favorite." I miss my life as Zuki, but I also miss my life as Cyan and Akay. I miss being more animal-like than this stupid human body [this body is stupid cause it doesn't fit any of us, not because 'humans are bad' btw. We don't hate humans. We may have fear and shit of (unknown to us) humans, but we don't hate humans]. Anyways, I would probably just say a mixture of all of my ("actual") animal kins, so a wolfdog cat crow creature, lol.

Don't think we/I am gonna answer for the others, cause this is longer than we thought it'd be.

21. How does your plurality affect your alterhumanity?

Hey, it's our question we added for us!!! Also, did we use "affect" right?

Anyways, our plurality affects our alterhumanity in many ways, lol. We have talked a bit about multiple of our/my packmates in this post already. None of us in the "Wildlife Pack" are human. We are all alterhumans and nonhumans.

Our plurality is also very much intertwined with our alterhumanity. It is essentially part of our alterhumanity. While some plural beings may not consider themselves alterhumans, plurality is/can be a part of the alterhuman umbrella. And that is definitely the case for us.

We don't know exactly what our origin is for our plurality but we are pretty sure (around 99.99% sure) that we do not have a CDD [CDD means complex dissociative disorder, which are things like DID, OSDD, etc]. We also think trauma at least impacted our plurality even if it didn't cause it, so we mostly call ourselves quoitraumagenic, but we might not 100% fit under "traumagenic." Anyways, we are 100% pro endo and endo safe!! If anyone doesn't like that, block us.

- Shay 🐾

Anyways, we/I have ranted for a lot of this post, lol. So this is gonna be the end of it for now.

Also, if there are any mistakes with spelling, grammar, etc. Only correct us if you are meaning it in a constructive way, please. As we are bad with English (despite it being our main/only language in this life/body, lol). [We are disabled in multiple ways, and it affects us in multiple ways.]

Do any other beings get anxious when others reblog your posts without tags and/or adding anything to it?

We hope this makes sense.

Edit: it's less anxiety inducing when it's by certain blogs/accounts, like if we feel like we know a blog/account is a friend, we aren't as anxious [only like 3 accounts/blogs fit this though, lol]

Hey, what are your opinions on frogs? We need strong opinions, it’s for a school project (lie). -Consensus

Frogs are cool!!!

We love all animals!!!

We don't know much about frogs, though.

Sorry, this probably isn't really what you want. But this is what we can give.

We did!

And yeah, we get that. That's kinda also why we thought to ask if there was a word for the "human" version.

Thanks for the answer btw!!

Theriform [Official Coining Post]

Theriform Adjective (can applied as a noun in certain phrasing, see examples)

From θηρίον (thēríon) [diminutive of θήρ thḗr, “wild beast”] and μορφή (morphe) ["shape"/"figure"/"look"].

Definition:

A theriform animal is one which was born into a body that is typical/expected of it's species and observable as such by everyone, with species-typical levels of sapience/intelligence and whose behaviour is unaltered by being born into a human body/raised in a form perceived as human.

It is not the 'opposite' of therian despite similar etymology but is instead to be viewed as a complimentary term to therian, nonhuman, alterhuman, otherkin etc as it exists to specify certain details of a species whilst not invalidating the identities of those who are not theriform. It is made to replace potentially invalidating phrases like 'bio(logical) animal' or 'real animal'.

It is not an identity label and therefore has no flag or symbol and does not need one. Do not create these things please, or use the term to describe yourself on a personal level.

Alternative versions for non-animals could include: floraform, nat(ur)form, techform, fictoform, feyform, voidform, starform, divineform etc

Examples:

"Lol it's so funny being a cat and having a theriform cat as a pet we're both just kitties vibing but with different body shapes."

"Just because they're the same species are you does not mean you are able to take care of wild theriforms."

"The fact that there aren't that many theriforms of my species is so saddening."

"I wanna do quads alongside a pack of theriform wolves so bad!"

"I am transspecies, here is what I do/what I want to do to look more theriform."

"I wonder if theriforms get species dysphoria?"

As a plural [questioning origin] who is new to the plural and system community in general, I wanna point out that from what we've seen being a system/plural is not really the whole thing with DID and other dissociative disorder like that, it's the trauma and being a system is more of an "add-on" (sorry for phrasing it like that).

So people saying they are PLURAL or a SYSTEM or whatever other word they prefer to use without trauma is not misdiagnosing themselves cause they aren't claiming to have DID or OSDD or other trauma based dissociative disorders without trauma. They are just saying that they have a similar thing to people with those disorders (I hope we are explaining this correctly).

So why are anti endos so obsessed with trying to call them fake or saying that they are doing that? If you just listen to them, you would learn more, and isn't that better? Don't traumagenic systems/plurals want to be listened to instead of being thought of badly from misinformation and bad representation and shit? So why aren't they doing that for endos?

I wouldn't usually jump into "discourse" or anything, but we felt like this needed to be said and understood. If you don't like this post, leave my account, go ahead, and block me. It will save everyone a ton of time.

- Lakey (They/it + blu/blue/blues/blues/blueself) & Shay (They/it) | almost always here as the host, lol

I think a big part of the reason that I went from anti-endo to endo-safe was absolutely due to how starkly different the communities felt.

Anti-endo communities were hard to engage with. Sure, some of them would focus on their support for each other more than their hatred of endogenic systems. And that's great! However, when you are brought together by your dislike of a certain group, you can't help but feel the hate permiate into so much of it. It always happened eventually. Anti-endo communities had such a focus on systems who were "fake" that I couldn't help but worry I was one of them, no matter how much they told me it was "just endos" they were concerned about.

The endo community (at least the parts I've engaged with and were easy to find) were so kind and respected me as a system, no matter how I felt or my plurality presented. Simply knowing we could find joy in our plurality allowed us to strive for so much more than we had thought possible before.

As a traumagenic system, we've improved so much with our symptoms and communication as a result of the positivity and acceptance we recieved. When we joined communities where we could be authenticallly ourselves (no matter what), we came together and faced so much less conflict between each other. And the conficts we did have, we realized that we could solve them together rather than alone.

When you are constantly doubting if you are "actually a system", you start to push the others away, and that made our dissociation and amnesia so much worse. I understand being careful of self-misdiangnosis, it can put you on the wrong path for how you learn to manage your symptoms. At the same time, the sentiment I often heard from endogenic systems when I was struggling with doubt and denial was very simple: "So what if you're not a system?" In short, it was okay to be wrong.

And that was huge for me. I realized that, no matter if I was a system or not, the techniques I used to improve ourselves and communicate with one another beneficial to me. At the end of the day, even if I wasn't a system after all, the skills I had found we invaluble to my health and well-being. So when I fall into denial spirals, no matter what I think about myself, I now know that I don't need to deprive myself of what has helped me, even if it is a "system thing." I don't feel scared to use these skills anymore (even in denial spirals), beacuse the line between what systems and non-systems or singlets can/can't do suddenly wasn't a big deal or a battle of "who can do what."

Our plurality is no longer a burden or a scar to us. It is simply who we are. We've learned so much about each other and ourselves since we've been accepted in full, and since we've learned to accept others. Endogenic communities have helped us (a traumagenic system) probably more than they'll ever know, and we're forever grateful for that.

So thank you, endogenic systems.

We'd love to hear more about median plurals.

Cause we are kinda wondering if we (Shay subpack) are a median subpack cause we are technically all parts of Shay.

We are different from our other packmates. They are distinct. They are their own beings in a way that we in the Shay subpack aren't.

We'd just love to hear more about median plurals and their experiences.
