Yea, next question.
Feminism is just fun & games to these losers. They don't give a damn about women's rights, they just want to belittle JK Rowling. How can you see the horrors these women faced and how amazing it is they were able to be helped, and just brush it off with a stupid joke?
Oh I was thinking about this post and how male privilege especially is talked about a few weeks ago. Like, here’s a fun joke for this question.
When did white feminine males get the right to vote in the U.S? The same time as every other male.
Privilege in general is often the benefits of the world built with you in mind that you don’t really think about. The feminine gay male will never have to worry about the growing price of pads and tampons and the inaccessibility of these basic hygiene products for female people. There feminine gay male will not be sneered at as ‘an adult now’ by actual adult males at 13 because of the way puberty effects their body. They do not have to think about pregnancy as a possibility after sexual assault. Those are male privileges and they have nothing to do with masculinity.
Note, heterosexual women also don’t face all the issues that homosexual and effeminate males do. This isn’t about how much worse women have it than gay men, and I don’t actually think that conversation would be particularly healthy. Oppression and the needs of the marginalized need to be understood in their own rights instead of this strange thing where we pretend helping one group will save them all.

it's funny because my job involves a lot of using a box cutter, so you'd think that's the thing I'd accidentally hurt myself with the most
but nooo no no no. the box cutter is my colleague, my ally, my friend. you know what is truly bloodthirsty in a print & signage shop? literally Anything Else that's able to cut but not supposed to. cardboard, sheets of plastic, the humble paper of course, corrugated polypropylene, aluminum composite sheets - i nicked myself on a sheet of magnetic material today?? it bled. kinda profusely.
basically:
box cutter: a trusty companion, might hurt you if you handle it wrong, but that's understandable
stuff you use the box cutter on: they know you as their enemy. they know the rules of this life: kill, or be killed. they know what they have to do.
"For the last few years I’ve been trying an experiment. I speak at a lot of feminist events, and often these involve an all-female panel. Often, a man pops up in the Q&A, or buttonholes me afterwards to ask why feminism has to make men feel so unwelcome. Aren’t men’s contributions valuable? Absolutely, I cry with all the fake enthusiasm I can muster – and there is one, huge contribution that men can make to feminism: the washing up. Or the laundry, I’m easy. Or going part-time while the kids are small.
At this point, the light in their eyes tends to die. It turns out that when they said they wanted men to be involved in feminism, what they actually meant was “have someone listen to their ideas about what feminists are currently doing wrong”. Not do a load of boring unpaid work in return for absolutely zero praise."

The year is 2032 and prostitution has been legalized but is ruled that it must be 100% OSHA compliant.
A john calls to make an appointment for a home visit but it’s after 4pm on a Friday and Monday is a union holiday. Frustrated he calls Tuesday and is told the soonest a technician can come out is next Wednesday between 9am and 2pm. When the next Wednesday finally comes, the technician shows up at 3:30pm in full Hazmat gear. His name is Mike and he’s 46 and married with two kids. By law, all he can safely provide is a dry hand job. He’s on a Bluetooth call arguing with his brother in law about a truck the entire time. It hurts a lot and costs $1100.
When you make a joke about how if men could get pregnant they’d sell abortion pills in vending machines only to get hit with “trans men exist”
Yes, I am aware that women who change their pronouns are still capable of getting pregnant. It comes with the female reproductive system. This is not revolutionary information, nor is it an example of males getting pregnant
Don’t walk yourself into getting your feelings hurt if you can’t handle that being pointed out
Me: passionately argues with ignorant, misogyinist people who throw tantrums about feminism 'just hating men and inventing problems', I use the real ideas of feminism, statistics and real stories from real women, to prove that what they say is full bullshit
Also me 10 minutes later: sees a radfem acount talking about how the Y chromosome contains sociopathic behaviour making every men (including trans women) evil from birth, and every woman who dared to get married or give birth betrayed women, with hundreds in the comments praising 4B

Imagine if male genitals were treated like female genitals? Like testicles weren’t even referred to as testicles and some men didn’t even know what they were actually called and the general area was just called “penis”.
(I haven’t even talked about the homophobia in this fucking thing-)
It GETS me that Whipping Girl is THE book people recommend me to understand Trans feminism and Trans Misogyny. In one breath it’ll bring up how the female body is treated as taboo to the point where the clitoris is viewed as a fucking myth and the next it’ll argue that no oppression happens on the basis of sex. It claims men oppress women because they’re just oh so scared to embrace femininity and if they were allowed to they would embrace women with open arms. It makes homophobic ‘I only see people’s inner essence in their eyes not their genitalia UwU anyone who cares about genitalia during sex is just shallow and phobic’ arguments. I would recommend it to Radfems because every crap tra argument you’ve had comes from this fucking book, but I don’t think it’d change anyone who isn’t already jumping on the concept that males are the biggest victims of patriarchy.
”Feminists think the goals of Tra’s and MtFs are unconnected-“ and you spent an entire book giving me really good reasons to continue to think that. This book says that the reason males are misogynistic is their fear of being perceived as feminine, therefore feminism should focus on helping males out of that brain hole. And the thing is… Feminism has tried that. Libfem bullshit has BEEN babying men and blaming women for males cruelty for supposedly being the people who won’t let them hold purses or whatever the fuck.
Has it worked? I wouldn’t say so. I look around and still see women suffering. I think the reason males are misogynistic is because they benefit from a hierarchical system that treats women as property. I think this happens regardless of any secondary factors. I’ve seen too many feminine males defend pornography to think defense of pornography comes from some place of self loathing instead of their desire to get off no matter what. The goal of radical feminists is female liberation from a system that sees them as the property of males. The goal of ‘trans feminism’ is the liberation of femininity from the shackles of masculinity. I can say that’s a fine goal, but they are so fundamentally different that they require different movements.
You don’t get to argue that only males experience oppression based AND call yourself a feminist book.
… This book is so dumb in such obvious ways that it makes me think the people who keep recommending it to me didn’t actually read it.

I’m thinking about a stray post that I saw a while back that went something like, ‘You don’t think of ‘privilege’ when you think of gay males’ in the context of male privilege. And it kind of makes me think about… How privilege is talked about at all. I’d say a major element of privilege is blindness towards the ways it benefits you. It’s not just that you’re able bodied, it’s that you don’t have to have to worry about any kind of accommodations being made for you to exist in public because the world was already made with your needs as a central focus as an example. In that sense, it’s easier to look at the ways a person knows they are disadvantaged. So Gay Males are noticeably discriminated against on the basis of their homosexuality, and that’s the first thing a person will think about when they hear Gay Male. What NO ONE thinks is, ‘that’s a gay male, he’ll never have to worry about being forced to give birth. That’s a gay man, he lives in a world where seat belts were made with his safety in mind.’ And that’s usually fine, the ways that gay males benefit from manhood isn’t something that always needs to be brought up- the same way that a white woman’s whiteness is not always relevant to the conversation.
HOWEVER, it becomes a problem when we’re talking about misogyny and people start pretending oppression exists as one scale instead of multiple axes. Admittedly this is VERY Intersectionalism 101 (and people understand this concept weirdly well when we’re talking about rich white women) but it still feels like it needs to be stated on this site.
mom, dad, i found grandma’s terf sideblog immortalized on the wayback machine. why is there 5 hours worth of entries agonizing over the word ‘fish.’
Obviously young republican men being more likely to think men than women face discrimination in our society is dumb and stupid but we really gotta work on the fact that a QUARTER of young democratic women think men face discrimination.
the true reason “not all men” sounds absurd to me (aside from the ignorance of statistics) is that it fundamentally misunderstands misogyny. “not all men” assumes that male supremacy is not an ideology like Nazism or fundamentalism might be. additionally, it assumes that male supremacy is disconnected from male violence. if a white supremacist killed a black innocent, you would not disconnect his ideology from the crime. but male violence must be psychological, not ideological. he beats a woman because he himself was beaten as a child, etcetera.
misogyny, loosely described is the dehumanization (not mere dislike) of women. thus it takes many forms: objectification, pedestalization, decontextualization, caricaturization (or stereotyping), etc. BUT FUNDAMENTALLY, the ideology of male supremacy centers around one core tenet: men are entitled to women for anything at any time. misogyny will, given time, result in male violence and exploitation. but it begins with entitlement. misogyny is a man feeling entitled to a woman’s body. to a girlfriend, wife, prostituted woman. but it doesn’t have to be solely sexual. he can be entitled to a woman’s subordination. he can be entitled to her kindness or attention. he can be entitled to her time and effort. he can be entitled to her support and loyalty. he can be entitled to her service and ideas. he can be entitled to her career and finances. there is no limit to the expression of male entitlement toward women. and that is what makes a man a patriarch. any person a misogynist. that a woman or girl, by virtue of being female, must be an endless fount of whatever one wishes.
misogyny is uncritically expecting your girlfriends to support all your decisions. misogyny is a man expecting his mother to cook and wash after him. misogyny is a boy getting angry that a girl has genuine, logical counter arguments to his ideas. misogyny is a boyfriend expecting his girlfriend to be 100% available to him whenever he wants attention or feels needy. without returning even half that energy. misogyny is stripping nuance from prominent female figures whether historical, fictional or celebrity. it is the denial of a woman’s interiority and needs. misogyny is a pastor that expects women to defer to him on spiritual matters. it has so many flavors and languages and it has no limits. male entitlement toward female people knows no limits. it’s TRA’s demanding access to women’s female spaces and calling any woman or girl that expresses discomfort or argues for her rights “inconsiderate bigot cunts.” entitlement to a woman’s agreement. it’s the government banning a woman’s right to terminating pregnancy or self-defense against sexual violence because governments are entitled to workers and soldiers.
and so, “not all men” is absurd because there’s virtually no man that does not have some level of this entitlement and expect it of at least one woman or girl in his life. especially because even women do not escape misogyny. men’s entitlement to controlling or overpowering a woman in some way (as the prime hallmark of the identity of a man) is omnipresent, whether or not it escalates into male supremacist violence. but again, once the ideology takes root, that women naturally owe men themselves or some capacity of themselves, violence (or neglect in the face of it) is almost always certain to follow. in which case the question for a woman doesn’t become a matter of “if” but “when.”
all men are entitled to women and girls and believe, as a result of being male supremacists, that they are owed our labor, bodies and minds. this alone makes all men (and boys) weaponized.
dangerous.
Really tired of people on this hellsite acting like being gay comes with political obligations
Homosexuality is apolitical. Sexuality doesn’t come with a set of beliefs or rules.
Gay people belong to a diverse array of beliefs, religions, and communities and yes that includes ones you disagree with or dislike.
Stop saying shit like “terfs can’t be lesbians” “so and so isn’t allowed to be a lesbian because of xyz” “he’s not actually gay because he is of a/b political group”
It makes it clear you think being gay is a choice and that it comes with a set of rules you need to follow to be ‘validated’.
Gay people are gay even if you don’t like them. Shut up.
The way Trans Posts will switch rapidly from ‘if you’re not with us, you’re with the fascists’ (implying that you don’t actually have to believe in any of their bullshit you just have to hate the alt right more to count as on their side. Which. I repeat most Rads voted for Harris.) To ‘if you even toe the party line you’re against us’ (Which turns away any potential allies for perceived moral purity within the movement. It means anyone who doesn’t think twaw is turned away from the movement). It’s almost dizzying.
“Female-assigned intersex kids’ vaginal canal size is also assessed by doctors, to ensure that it’s long enough to fit a penis inside of it. Doctors might surgically construct or re-construct vaginas, which can result in a host of health problems and necessitate multiple, multiple surgeries. This is especially the case since most intersex kids have these surgeries very young, and when their bodies grow into their adult forms, more surgeries are necessary to keep their vagina size in proportion. Non-surgical methods are also used to increase or maintain vaginal length by regularly using medical dildos to stretch the vagina over months and years. (It’s kind of like braces for your vagina, but much, much worse.) Just like there are no standards for how long a clitoris “can” be before it’s classified as a penis, there aren’t absolute standards as to how long a vagina is for it to be of “normal” length. I had a dilation procedure performed for almost every exam I had with intersex doctors from the time I was 8 until I was 16, so that they could check how long my vagina was as I grew. I absolutely hated these procedures. I mean, imagine a man as old as your father or your grandfather, who you don’t know, inserting a medical dildo into you each time you saw him, knowing that you can’t question the doctor’s orders and just accept that you have to undergo these uncomfortable procedures for your health. Imagine a decade or so later, realizing that these procedures did nothing to track your health, and had everything to do with grown men feeling good about the fact that you could fuck some dude someday like a “normal girl”. That all those traumatizing procedures weren’t actually medically relevant at all, and it actually was within my right to refuse those examinations. I didn’t know any of that at the time. I also had no idea that I wouldn’t want to ultimately have the kind of sex they assumed I’d be having, adding yet another layer of this-was-totally-unnecessary/messed-up to my history. Other kids shouldn’t have to go through this. Other adults shouldn’t have revelations some day far into the future that what was happening to them WASN’T okay, and their traumatic feelings ARE valid, and the whole system of how intersex people are conceptualized and “treated” IS entirely fucked. And it’s gotta change. We’ve gotta change it.”

I just read this article and was reminded once again how invisible the intersex community often is… we need to signal boost this shit to let people know that this kind of “medical treatment” is NOT okay.
(via bossybussy)
Felt straight-up ill reading this. This is the institutionalized rape of children. It’s beyond unconscionable that procedures like this are normalized and considered “treatment”.

Revolting and repugnant.
See why intersex folk don’t like their medical issues being used as a rhetorical gotcha?

Tbh it reads especially hollow when the ‘skirt go spinny’ crowd mocks the ‘I’m just a girl’ crowd. When a man does the same schtick they eagerly kiss his ass and feminism suddenly becomes being a killjoy asshole who hates women.
Tbh one of my peaking moments was when female people not being comfortable around males post assault was brought up as a case for female only shelters existing in tandem with gender neutral ones. And the universal response was, ‘traumatized female people aren’t allowed their trauma. They should get over it.’ Unlike Transwomen who never should be expected to sacrifice anything for even a second, abuse victims are fine to throw under the bus.
It is kind of funny that every time there’s a poll made on here about how Radfems actually voted it’s like 90 percent Harris, 5 percent not US. It’s almost like they’re predominantly leftists but disagree with you guys on one thing (as many leftists do.)
