I don't have a lot of nice things to say about this episode, but what I will say is that the first 13 minutes were pretty dang good and them bringing the memory TARDIS from Tales From the Tardis into play was amazing. Every scene in there was absolute gold.

So I was trying to explain to my boyfriend, who has absolutely NO knowledge of Doctor Who might I add, some of my theories/evidence gathering. I pose it now to the theorists of DW Tumblr in the hopes you can use any of it.

Also after reading all of that the first thing he had to say was that Susan might be a version of Clara.

So this episode reminded me what Mr. Copper said in Voyage of the Damned about not being able to pick and choose who you save. September dies needlessly and no one wants the Doctor's help even though he begs them to come with him.

Also the racism jumpscare at the end was amazing since I was thinking to myself that everyone looked like they'd fit into a mid-2000s cgi Barbie movie. However, being white myself I didn't really notice there were no people of color and was more focused on the classism.

Don't you hate it when your father is smelted and you have to carry his packed remains in a bank vacuum canister?

Also, Susan Twist again! And they know there's no way we could have missed her so many times because the next episode is an old woman following them around menacingly. Who is she, and what does she want?

Damn, I miss when you could blow sand in someone's eyes and it would just sting real bad. Now they just die instantly.

So after Church on Ruby Road, what's everyone's theories on Mrs. Flood?

Lol maybe sutekh is the one making it snow around Ruby to try and make them more invested about finding Ruby's mum. He just wanted them to speed up their investigation so he threw in some spooky snow

QUICK REVIEW OF NEW DOCTOR WHO EPISODES:

Ncuti Gatwa is bringing us a joyful Doctor who is happy to be alive, and honestly, that is so wonderful and brings me such joy. Ruby Sunday is also just a delight, and I can't wait to see how her story progresses. Space Babies was a fun silly story that I liked (although whatever cgi they used to make the babies talk weirded me out). The Devil's Chord was ICONIC and just filled me with glee. Jinkx Monsoon is such a wonder, and I absolutely adored the Maestro. I'm so happy to see Doctor Who that is fun and exciting again. This might be blasphemy, but Ncuti Gatwa is taking over the role of my favorite Doctor. Move over David Tennant, there's a new guy in town and he is THE COOLEST. Can't wait to see more.

Thoughts about the Doctor Who Christmas special:

This episode was SO FUN. It was sweet, funny, but above all, this shit was GOOFY. I think doctor who is at its best when it doesn't take itself too seriously. This episode had goblins in a big pirate ship and the Doctor doing a musical number. It was so silly and I loved it. The Doctor is finally allowed to have fun and serve cunt, as God intended. Ncuti is so cool and is already becoming my new favorite doctor. Ruby is super cute and spunky. I can't wait to see more of both of them.

So i decided to rewatch The Giggle this time with my four year old brother because he liked Doctor Who because he likes most of the things I do and also aliens and time travel and stuff are really appealing to four year old boys. Anyways, so I’m watching it and we’re at the part where the Doctors are challenging the Toymaker to a game and my brother goes “Push him off the building.” just completely out of pocket and I’m still dying

Let's just take a moment to appreciate that horrifying shot of the TARDIS just standing there. Menacingly. Something I was not aware it could do and never want to see again

Also this is your reminder to... Watch Classic Who wherever you can find it!! It's a really enjoyable show to put on while getting things done in the house or multitasking :)) and it's okay to skip Doctors, it's just too long not to. There's no shame in watching a show for fun.. as in watching how you enjoy it most. We're all true fans no matter how much we have seen. I personally watch at least the first and last story arc per Doctor as my rule right now, though I have seen a LOT of the First and I don't want to miss ANY Fourth at this moment (I'm on him right now.)

Nobody knows what I mean when I talk about that ridiculous space worm that was literally. And I mean GENUINELY. Just green bubble wrap around a guy. You're missing out on so many goofy effects, but also some clever editing for the time and some stories that are really exciting! And some boring ones! But the boring ones are when I get my things done so thank the writers for my productivity

Do yourself a favor and sit down while this senile old man uses a blue box to NEVER get where he intends to go. Realize how little things really have changed. Marvel at the stories somehow drawn out into 6 episodes. Make fun of it. Love our show and know that we are the luckiest fans because we will NEVER run out of content :]

Acquiring it is the hard part... If I could make mine available to you all I would... What harm would there be in the BBC putting it up somewhere for us? The old Moomins series was given to us free on YouTube and look at how that franchise has flourished!! I don't think anyone will probably read my 1am paragraphs but we should really just team up and grovel and maybe BBB (Big British Broadcasting (lol)) will let us have it 🥺
