TANAOI- SOULMATE AU
The happiest woman in the world.
Summary:
Aoi had considered herself blessed. She had had a pretty house, lovely parents and had been born with a soulmark. You'll be the happiest woman on the world, her mother told her. And sweet and young Aoi had believed in her words. But of all the possible scenarios she had imagined on her head, this one had nothing to do with any of them. It was unexpected and scary. And she wasn’t sure if it was welcomed at all. Why did the demons had to get involved on every single aspect of her life? I won't fall, she repeated to herself as if it were a mantra. She refused to take the leap. Or Tanjiro is Aoi's soulmate and she doesn't know how to deal with the pressure of it all.
Shinobu had asked her to be in charge of a particular trio of mizunotos found in the Natagumo Mountain. One of them in particular had grown quite an image. According to the news, he was said to have violated the rules, bringing a demon –who he had claimed was his younger sister– along to the battle. The slayer had claimed that she still held humanity, and would be incapable of hurting anyone.
That sounded impossible to her. She had seen demons, and witnessed the cruelty and pain they brought with them. Always full of bloodlust. So she didn’t find it possible to fight along them. But Oyakata sama had given resolution to the situation so it wasn’t her place to judge.
It was deep in the night when she finally approached the room. She opened the door and introduced herself in the room, finally getting sight of the boy who was the protagonist of the rumors of the moment. Given his story, she had expected that boy to be some kind of punk with a strong appearance, but he wasn’t. Despite being deep in sleep, Aoi found that his face and features seemed gentle. It threw her out of balance, it seemed she had judged him very soon.
He had pretty hair, that much she could give him. It looked like some kind of burgundy tone, though it looked darker against the moonlight. And those sure were a pair of flamboyant earrings.
She checked on the clipboard about his state.
Kamado Tanjiro.
So that was his name, huh?
It seemed he had been pretty beat up. According to the record right on her clipboard, the slayer had gone through multiple cuts, abrasion on face, arms and legs. Sprains all over his body, plus pulled muscles and contusions on his lower jaw.
He has been sleeping since his arrival in the afternoon. He must be tired.
She set down to work and started updating his vitals. And while checking on his temperature she found out that he was going through a fever. Her mind immediately ran through all possible scenarios for that outcome. It was most likely a product of tiredness or an undetected and infected wound.
Embracing her role completely she quickly started to inspect his body in look of the wound according to the information on his registry. The blue eyed girl paid special attention to the abrasion on his face, the one over his cheekbone seemed to be getting nasty. It was shallow, but it covered a good amount of space on his skin, and was starting to get that characteristic yellow color that indicated an upcoming infection.
The moment she posed her hands on his face to treat it the boy reached up and captured her wrist with his hand, holding it and keeping it in place.
"Let go of me!" she found herself saying. Aoi certainly hadn’t expected him launching himself like that and much less couldn't she continue with her job if he kept restricting her movements like that.
"Your hands are cold," he said sluggishly. It was most likely that the fever had fried his brain at that point. Yet at the moment it didn’t matter. Aoi found herself in shock.
He, that boy, had just pronounced the words that were etched on her skin.
Your hands are cold.
She found herself panicking, the desire to flee from there kicking instantly. This wasn't supposed to happen like that.
Before she could react the boy's grip slackened letting go of her wrist, his hand limply falling back to its previous place and his mind slipping back to unconsciousness. Aoi took two steps back, her hands felt clammy and the beating of her heart was right on her ears.
The room felt too small for her, she needed space. Would it be wrong to go and let him like this? She shook her head, he was her patient.
Setting aside her emotions she put on her medical façade and ran in medical mode from there on: accomplishing her task, composing his clothes and tucking him before leaving the room. Her mind and heart a mess.
Why? Why did her soulmate had to be related to the demon slayer corps? There was nothing but suffering on that field. She refused to come to terms with it.

Relationship: Kamado Nezuko/Tokitou Muichirou
Summary:
There was something on her that caught his attention. He noted that her hair was dark brown, it flowed down her back into some messy braids. She had the appearance of a child. That thought passed to the background once he noticed that her eyes were locked on his.
His pupil dilated, the fog cleared for a moment. They were pink, and he got the feeling that they should be a little bit more lavender. Like the pebble on his pocket.
“Have we met before?” he blurts. It happened in a small fraction of second, he could swear something alike recognition passed in her eyes. Then she cracked what Tokito supposed was a smile in his direction.
Or
Nezuko and Muichiro met when they were younger.
Small reminder that I wrote some multisaku fics uwu
the "multi-Sakura shipper world" still alive. these are the Sakura Haruno ships with the most productions on AO3:

Everyone: *sad that neither Muichiro nor Nezuko have their memories and Nezuko’s eyes have changed color so now them reuniting will be even harder*
Tanjiro, about to come in clutch cause he damn well remembers a boy named Muichiro breaking his little sister’s heart:
Fr though I think Tanjiro having a role in helping them get back together would be pretty interesting as he’s the only party involved who can still articulate properly. I’m imagining him holding a very strong grudge against Muichiro though cause he still hasn’t forgiven him for hurting his sister.
Hey there~
Thanks for your suggestion! Though now that you say this, maybe it wasn't portrayed correctly on the chapter so let me explain :DD
Since it was a matter which only concerned his eldest daughter, Tanjuro decided to keep all that information to him and Nezuko (as some kind of father-daughter secret). So, Tanjiro doesn't know about Muichirou's name. He only knows that his sister has a pen pal, and that she is betrothed to said pen pal. Any more details are unknown to him. And as you've read on the most recent chapter Nezuko reffused to tell him about it, so... yeah. Thats it.
Thanks for reading!
