speaking of freaks, ive been thinking of trying to construct my own version of a somewhat coherent universe for them bc as far as im aware there isnt an agreed upon one

my first thoughts are thus:

freaks dont age

while the freaks are contained in their own little world with its own laws, its fairly easy for them to escape and get into a nearby version of the main tf2 universe (i kinda just give all media i consume a multiverse with multiple versions of the canon because it makes things easier for me)

the freaks come back after death, but its a lot less predictable than respawn because, simply put, it aint respawn. rather than having a machine specifically created to bring people back to life, the freaks resurrect as a natural consequence of the inscruitable workings of their bizzare universe. they could come back instantly or a hundred years after their initial death

What characteristics of Bruce have the batkids taken on? Positively or negatively?

(Like, the way they drink their tea the same, or twitch if people mess with their organized files and tilt them out of "the perfect order")

I'm sure gothamites have commented, "oh you look /just/ like your father" at them, to their embarrassment.

Willing to sacrifice themselves for civilians/the team

Carry around gadgets, tools, etc on their person everywhere

Default to taking control of all situations, even silly ones

Paranoia, except it tends to be very well-founded

Sleep like the dead when they’re off-patrol

Being mean to the paparazzi

Distrusting romantic partners

Refusing help

Backup plans, so many alternative plans all the time for every single step forward
