I'm gonna be fr I created Sini and Sana as a way to vent about my massive crush on this guy at Uni, and because I'm a chronically online artist, I made my feelings and delulus into OCs to try and make it less obvious. I'm dumping everything out here because he asked me out and we're official now so.
They're still my ocs and in an entirely different world in my brain; detached from me and my (now) boyfriend, some of the scenarios are just based off real life.
Alright so these are my OCs named Sini (left) and Sana (right). One evening I was in the shower and this song I used to sing a lot with my friends as a kid popped up in my head. It's an Indo children's song
Disini senang, di sana senang, dimana-mana hatiku senang. (meaning; over here I am happy, over there I am happy, everywhere my heart is happy).
And for some reason my brain thought of this super cute queer college romance between two Indo art students (though I'm not sure what type of art they'd be majoring in) with polar opposite personalities. Quiet vs Feral type beat.
one more post before I pass out but happy lunar new year !! Here's my Javanese-Chinese OC Putra in a lion dance costume. Still a WIP! but once it's done I'll post it ont @jalanangkasa and actually feed the Sun Sleeper nation x____x
Some school assignments!! So, here's some stuff I did for finals and midterms, all character design-related, I guess.
The first was for my western art review class in which we had to combine 3 paintings from different art movements and create a character inspired from them. I took heavy inspiration from "The Nightmare" by Henry Fuselli, combining it vaguely with "The Gleaners" by Jean-Francois Millet and "Intervention of the Sabine Women" by Jacques-Louis David. I did make a breakdown of these paintings and their characters I made from them but I won't share that for obvious reasons.
The second is Hanuman, or 'Anoman' in my culture, For my Eastern art Review midterms, I was to take any character from Indonesian Wayang and reimagine them in a completely different style- to which I chose Monster Roadtrip as the style isn't too far off from the one i have.
The last two are for my Eastern Art Review midterms in which I had to create a character inspired by two ancient artifacts. To which we chose japanese ceremonial bells and chinese wine vessels. The first design is alright, but seeing as a lot of people ended up going with a deity-inspired, hanfu-wearing design, I wanted to make my character stand out by making him the exact opposite. His clothes are inspired by the way the japanese ceremonial bells rust overtime, his skin taking inspo from the chinese wine vessels we used as reference. He carries around one of these vessels where a little fruit spirit resides. I decided to give him the name "Masake", a play on the name "Masaki" and the word "Sake" because we love a silly drunken uncle character.

So this started out because my Apple Pencil ran out of battery and as a warm up I wanted to do while I waited for it to charge but instead I started actually having fun with colored pencils so here’s some stuff I made today
I just finished all my exams but hi!! I'm 20 now!! Deska dayy !!!
I'm in animation school now so I don't rlly have too much freetime for personal art but I managed to get this down in like 5ish minutes. Here's to another year of being alive!!

For Sam's hijab style, I went with one I see most commonly worn by teens in my country. I think it's very cute on her, but I'm not sure how it would be practical so in future Sam art, I'll probably experiment with diff styles and see what sticks.
I think Alex is the most similar to the book descriptions and official art here tbh, but I love the idea of her having a few moles, bigger hair and thicker brows. Also maybe slightly taller than Maggie.
but I'll make a separate post where they're all full body and their heights are according to what I imagine !

It's been a while !!
I completely forgot I have a tumblr x___x I forced myself to hold off on posting my valentines day art but ended up forgetting to post it anyways,,, so here it is !! Happy (late) valentines !!
A little after making those, I decided to change my sona's design a little more!! I also made art of them using a picture of Chloe Moriondo as a reference.
And last but not least, I got super hyperfixated on Monster Prom and made some art of it!! Last one was part of an art trade with my friend @neonflynn , who got me into it !!

More art is coming! I'm working on a mini OC x Canon of Phos and Damien based on a scene that happens in Monster Camp so keep an eye out !!

I'm really proud of this one. I rlly had to step out of my comfort zone and trust the process. It turned out better than I thought it would and I definitely will be trying this style again.
