hear me out a fic where Percy doesn’t lose his memory’s when being reincarnated for whatever reason and find Jason or Nico(Nico for peak angst) in that life and falls in love and Slidell realizes he was in love with him in his previous life to. He’s in love with Jason in every life no matter who they are or why they are. If someone writes this please put link in comment or repost it with link to account or fix so I can read it please!! Pervy, approximately 8 hours after finding out about Nico's crush:
Percy: Mom I gotta go back to camp half blood to strangle Nico.
Sally, waking up at 2.47 am:
Sally: Can it wait until morning?
Percy, already dressed and putting his shoes on: NO!
Sally: *sighs* Fine. What is it?
Percy: We spent MONTHS scouring the country for him in between tlo and botl. When I found a clue in the Labyrinth, I took off running, even though that's just about the most dangerous thing you can do in the Labyrinth.
Percy: I took on the weight of a great prophecy to protect him. The same prophecy that told me that I would die. I was ready to die for him.
Percy: I gave up godhood and used my wish for Nico to have a cabin at camp. A place that he'd be safe and feel welcomed. Somewhere I could keep him as close as he'd let me. So I could check on him, and see that he's alright and eating well.
Percy: All that, and IM NOT HIS TYPE!?!??!?!
Percy: I'm going to strangle him, mom.
Sally:
Sally: I'm going back to sleep. Have Mrs. O'Leary take you to camp. Call me in the morning so I know you're safe.
This is my first post and I really hope that everything is OK.
I once saw an idea by an author (sorry, I couldn't find the original of that post and the author. But if you are the author of that idea and you see it, then you are super and I really like your ideas!) which was that Nico gives Percy the potion of Endymion. It so happened that recently I came across a screenshot of GreatProphemy in my bookmarks and remembered the lines: "A half-blood of the eldest gods. Shall reach sixteen against all odds. And see the world in endless sleep...". I thought it was pretty cool for that idea! After all, what if the prophecy was not fulfilled to the end, as it was with Luke? Did everyone think that those lines implied a sleeping Manhattan and put everything aside? And then bam! It turned out that the prophecy was not fully fulfilled and Percy falls asleep! Well, a new prophecy may appear!

exploring Percy's canon interactions with Nico from botl and onwards on the level that I am for my fic is making me have a whole new perspective on percico and their relationship...
like Percy. oh, Percy cares for Nico so much and it's subtle at times but he's constantly reaching out at him, checking he's okay, making sure he's safe, inviting him to sit with him, asking him to keep in contact.
yet each time he does, Nico shuts it down with his own logic or brushes him off. there's nearly always something else he needs to do instead of going with what Percy suggests, and Percy always respects that.
at the end of botl, Percy respects Nico's need to leave camp, even if he does try and suggest options on how Nico could be welcome there, and then let's him go without any bitterness or other negativity (he even lightens the mood and makes Nico remember he's still a kid under there).
Percy accepts Nico for who he is and lets Nico go at his own pace. He doesn't push him or drag Nico's feelings down or blame anything on Nico's own actions.
also, at the end of the sword of Hades, Percy respects and understands Nico's need to stay in the Underworld while still offering out his support (by letting Nico know he's there if he needs anything).
Percy understands Nico's need to find out information about his family, get closer to Hades, stay in the Underworld & be one with it.
then, to top it all off, Percy uses his reward from the Gods to make sure Nico has a home, a safe place to go back to, somewhere where he can be accepted.
Nico is part of Percy's loyalty and honestly, I feel like if the two of them had simply got a chance to talk then Nico would have realised just how much he does mean to Percy.
Why was this ever a debate? I swear most non canon ships have better dynamics and relationships than anything the canon can ever devise. This is especially true in pjo fandom. Not a single good canon ship in the entirety of the ten book series and then all the other sequels/spinoff. And I mean not a single one. Percabeth and solangelo speak for themselves. Jiper and Caleo couldn't be more disastrous. Frazel isn't well fleshed out, and so on. No one's saying they couldn't have been good, but it's the truth that they aren't. Rick's writing plus certain tropes have ruined them completely.
Another point is that they are all teenagers with heavy trauma. They could have been fine without relationships. Rick could have focused more on their individual arcs and them overcoming their own traumas. There was no need for any ships. Rick acts as if a relationship is the solution to all the character's trauma and ptsd and the fandom is going along with this? Come on.
