I swap my appearance pretty often but I've got three that I always return to. The only one with lore is this green guy, I've taken to calling him Grotto. He runs a plantation on a boiling planet and likes to cook. I like to imagine that he's short with his words, but not impolite. It's also funny to me that all the bases I consider to be his are on the worst of planets. You're wondering through an acid storm, life support getting low with no hope in sight. When you round a hill and suddenly find yourself face to face with this homely little house. Somehow unphased by the hostility surrounding it. Grotto opens the door and invites you in without saying much, only guiding you towards the dining table and serving you a bowl of delicious vegetable stew.
ADHD moment, wanted to warm up before really leaning into a piece for a client and, uh, two days later I got this! I am a little less angry with myself than usual on account of REALLY liking how this one came out!
I love this game, I love this ship, and when the weather sucks, I love VR 🥲

update: i still have not found a single Traveller at a space station. i need them glyphs to get to the center of the galaxy quick. ATLAS is smiting me for my hubris
im trying to get the "To Live Forever" achievement in No Man's Sky so i started a permadeath run. It is Hard. not because of any of the actual permadeath stuff, no no. i am very good at the game. it is hard because i have to spend 5 hours building a base EVERY GODDAMN TIME. it is part of the MAIN QUEST. that you CANNOT IGNORE. seething. i absolutely despise this part of the game and if I turn off tutorial quests then it doesn't count as a permadeath run, for some reason...
