I study the scene in front of the bus the way I studied my letters in school. Gradually I begin to make out a kind of order in all the disorderness, a pattern to it all. It is like a river, where the currents of buses and trucks and people and animals flow into and around each other. If you look hard enough, chaos turns into order the way letters turn into words

Being an ADHD author is so counterproductive sometimes. You scroll back twenty chapters to make sure you’re consistent with details and suddenly it’s been two hours, it’s time to go to sleep, and you’ve only written two hundred words because you went back to checked a detail and never stopped reading.
I find myself lost in my own writing. I feel the wind on my skin and see flying beasts with eyes wide open.
If there has ever been anything true, is that I’ve always been one to get lost in words, when I can see them before they’re shaped.
I see it all so clearly. It’s like looking at a screen or a mirror. I dive into the projection and feel the breath of the world.
