An R rated movie about a typical alternative loser/dorky girl in love with the most popular guy in school, (we get a bunch of scenes that show that both of them are complex characters while also still fitting into their assigned roles throughout the movie) around a quarter through the movie we are introduced to the stereotypical blonde bully girl (basically the Regina George of the story) and we get a few typical scenes of her being the typical "cruel," popular girl, bully stereotype (bullying the MC as well as other "losers" at the school) we also get plenty of wholesome, cute development between the MC and love interest before the movie suddenly switches to the mean, bully girl's perspective, revealing that she's actually obsessively inlove with the MC and has been stalking her intensely, and is complete and totally obsessed, with a scene of her creepily staring into the MC's window as she sleeps, the movie eventually escalates to the mean girl attempting to murder the love interest after he gets in a argument with the MC, leaving her crying on a park bench, in which she almost succeeds before getting hit over the head with a metal trash can lid by the MC, who then disarms her and points/aims the weapon at the mean girl, who becomes extremely jealous over the love interest (who is currently injured and hiding behind the MC) and starts fighting with the MC, leading to a scene where the MC is sitting on top of the mean girls waist, with the weapon aimed/pointed and her face and or her heart, the mean girl brakes down and completely professes her love to the MC leading to her sitting in shock and horror as she connects all the pieces before the mean girl flips her over and takes back the weapon, leaving them in the same position but switched, it's then revealed that the MC used to have a crush on the mean girl before she had one on the love interest, she also starts crying as she confesses to the mean girl, the mean girl goes in for a kiss, letting down her guard which leads to the MC disarming her once again and shooting/stabbing her in the stomach, the dying mean girl asks "why?" To which the MC explains that she could never forgive the mean girl and that maybe she could have loved her in another life, in a different time, the mean girls responds by coughing up blood and smiling as the light leaves her eyes before saying "I would have loved to just do laundry and bake with you in another life." A single tear falling from her eye, the MC nods, starting to cry, helping the love interest up and taking him to a hospital, the move ends with the MC putting a bouquet of roses on the mean girls grave, the credits roll with the song "kiss me" by Sixpence None The Richer, the very last seconds of the movie are just a scene of the mean girl and the MC sitting next to eachother on a dock in the summer, watching the sunset by a lake, with the words "in another life.." written in a romantic pink color with hearts as both the movie and song end.

Story idea!

A book/movie with an extremely sarcastic, loser character who is just absolutely cursed, like the very definition of a jinx, for absolutely no reason, like they're a good person, they do good things just for the sake of doing good things, yet for some reason, they are just absolutely cursed with the worst luck in everything, and it's a romantic comedy between them and the most sunshine, perfect, happy-go-lucky character ever, who has the most amazing luck and is just the exact opposite if the MC in every way, shape and form, with a kiss in a rainstorm at the end (bonus points if they both rub off on eachother throughout the movie)

FROSTED FLAKES Pt.1

In the summer of ‘76,, Matt meets a walking social disaster. In simpler terms.. a girl. I know. Matt Sturniolo and girls aren’t exactly a match made in heaven. But maybe this one is an exception?

FROSTED FLAKES Pt.1

September 14, 1976 – A Warm, Late-Summer Evening

The air smelled like gasoline and fading sunlight, warm in that way September gets when summer refuses to let go. The pavement still held onto the heat of the afternoon, radiating up through the soles of Matt Sturniolo’s sneakers as he walked home from McCleary’s Market with a bag of records under his arm. The sky had that golden, hazy look, half dusk, half dream, where everything feels a little too quiet, like the world is holding its breath before night fully settles in.

Matt liked moments like this. When the streets were mostly empty, the radio static in his head quieted, and the only sound was the scuff of his sneakers against the sidewalk.

Then, out of nowhere—

BAM.

A blur of curls. A crash. The sharp edge of a shopping cart jamming into his hip.

Matt stumbled back, nearly dropping his records, as someone practically barreled into him outside the market. A girl.

“Oh my god,” she gasped, immediately grabbing his arms like she could keep him upright through sheer force of will. “Are you okay? Jesus, I wasn’t looking—well, obviously I wasn’t looking, because if I was looking, you wouldn’t be half-dead on the sidewalk right now, but—oh no, did I break something? Are you gonna sue me? Wait, do people actually do that? I mean, I wouldn’t sue if I got hit with a shopping cart, but—”

Matt just blinked at her, trying to process what the hell just happened.

The girl, who had massive brown eyes and a mess of dark curls that looked like they had a mind of their own, stared back at him expectantly, waiting for a response.

“
You talk a lot,” he muttered.

She grinned. “Yeah, I get that a lot.”

And then, before he could say anything else, she reached into his grocery bag, dropped a box of Frosted Flakes inside, and walked off like nothing happened.

Matt stood there for a long moment, watching her bounce away down the sidewalk, talking to an old lady who looked very confused but not entirely displeased by her presence.

What the hell just happened?

And, more importantly

Who was she?

I’m reblogging this because I stand with you. When the headlines came out that he was cheating with Sydney and that’s the main reason why his ex broke up with him, my heart broke for him. When people heard that, afterwards, that’s all they believed and thought he was without the facts.

It’s crazy to think a lot of people in the world let the media do their thinking for them. I guess they forget they have a brain to think with and research what is true and not. Those people remind me of the sheep mindlessly following a rogue shepherd into a forest of lies.

After the rumors came out, those people didn’t even weigh the fact that Glen might actually be a great guy. It’s almost like they wouldn’t either when the truth came out about what really happened either.

Glen Thomas Powell Jr. is such a wonderful person. He cares for his sisters and loves his family. He is very understanding and a great listener. He has so much love for everyone he meets and I can see that every time I watch an interview of him. He loves his dog. He’s not afraid to show who he is.

Those people choose not to see that though because of the media.

This deeply saddens me and I hope one day, the right people will see past the rumors and love him for who he is.

I care deeply for him but I hate how people believe he is a cheater. He is not. I’m just sad for him. I have always wanted for him to be successful and recognised but not in this way. My heart breaks for him.

Someone Like You

You're my next-door neighbour, I knew you since we were kids, I gave you six-dollars for your cheesy movies, I do love how you kissed me. Red hair, green eyes and a good taste in tunes, There really isn't someone like you.

I love your little quirks and ballet slippers, I love how you practise the piano even now, Playing Adele on a four-chord loop. I did a cartwheel for you We bought you white and green tees, Ans I bought you pink converse shoes. Red hair, green eyes and my baseball hoodie, There really isn't someone who loves you like me.

The secret hideout, marshmallows on a stick, You smoking a cherry cigarette, Your cat who doesn't go outside, Otis, my doggy boy. Red hair, green eyes, the white dress on you, I love our Soundtrack because it reminds me of you.

I confess I hogged the Spot only to talk to you, Sat on the porch to hear you play, I can't tell you how sad I was, When you lost your mother that way. Your cute little owl dress, Your little 'the Diner' lie, The daisies on your hip, I never want to make you cry. Red hair, green eyes, talking to your mother on a run, I know you drink black coffee, I know you beam like the sun.

Little Libby Loo on prom night, looked like an angel from heaven, And I wanted to punch our good friend Mike. Her loopy cursive on the porch, Marshmallows and CDs, Liz rambling over a lost penny. Dark hair, dark eyes, I'm Wesley, There isn't someone like you, Libby Loo, And now I can say you love me too.

I HATE people who hate romcoms!!! You’re not cool or different or more complex because you refuse to sit through a funny chick-flick. I get it if romcoms arent your favorite genre but deciding you hate them because they’re too “cliche” and “cheesy” makes you SOOOO ANNOYING. THEYRE SUPPOSED TO BE CLICHE AND CHEESY. BECAUSE MOST OF THEM ARE SELF AWARE ENOUGH TO UNDERSTAND THAT THEYRE BEING STUPID AND THATS THE JOYS OF A ROMCOM.

And saying that you enjoy horror more over romcoms literally makes me rip out my hair!!!!! Omg you’re sooooooooo cool and deep and interesting for wanting to see someone’s face get ripped off by an oily buff monster man- SHUT UPPPPPPPPPPP!!!!! IDC!!!!! Romcoms atleast have some lesson you learn by the end of the movie about caring about others or that he’s just not that into you and that it’s fine!!!! I’m not saying most horror movies also don’t have lessons and what not- but hating on a romcoms for the same reason you love a horror movie LITERALLY KILLS ME!!!!

Anyways, my fav Romcom is either Ghost of Girlfriends past or The Proposal <33333

21. Ewan McGregor Movie Review: Down with Love (2003)

21. Ewan McGregor Movie Review: Down With Love (2003)

Genre: Comedy/Romance

Rating: PG-13

Director: Peyton Reed

Starring: Renée Zellweger, Ewan McGregor, Sarah Paulson, and David Hyde Pierce

Synopsis: Aspiring author, Barbara Novak, trades her small-town life for the Big Apple in order to promote her new book, "Down with Love." The book stirs up controversy with its message to help women achieve equality by saying no to love and yes to sex. When Catcher Block, resident playboy and New York's #1 journalist, is personally affected by this shift of the sexes, he plots to expose Barbara Novak as a fraud by getting her to fall in love with him.

Ewan Review: Ewan plays the character Catcher Block. Catcher is famous for being THE socialite of New York City. Women want him, men want to be him, and he's highly respected in his field as a journalist. Yes, life is perfect for him...until Barbara Novak shows up out of the blue and turns society on its head! His pride and reliance on the status quo can't bear to see this happen. So, he does what any logical man would do: wage a battle of the sexes! Ewan surprisingly speaks in his Scottish accent for this role! He also speaks in a southern accent which isn't any good, but I'm going to give him a pass this time because of the context. He has two shirtless scenes and LOTS of kissing scenes. I'm talking straight up making out, y'all. There are sex jokes galore and he gets to make his fair share of them. He doesn't have any sex scenes but he does have an implied erection scene. Lastly, he has a stellar song and dance number. His acting performance is incredible. I also just want to add that he is outlandishly handsome in this movie. I don't know how to explain it, especially because he's handsome in practically all his roles. He's a naturally handsome guy, but the way his attractiveness was amplified ten-fold in this movie did not go unnoticed by me. Please tell me if you understand what I'm talking about.

Screentime Percentage: Ewan is on screen for a grand total of 47/102 minutes making his SP 46%.

To Ewan or not to Ewan: Is the movie worth watching for Ewan in general? 1000% YES! Is it worth watching in general? Yes!

Where to Watch: "Down with Love" is available for rent on Amazon Prime Video, YouTube, and Google Play Movies and TV. You can watch it for free on soap2day.

Closing Thoughts: This movie is an homage to the sex comedies of the 1960s and is played out like one. It takes place in 1962 and the way it transports the audience back to that time is nothing short of fantastic! The costumes, editing, set design, manner of speech, soundtrack, everything down to the last detail was dripping in nostalgia and it was a blast! I feel the need to stress though that this is a SEX comedy. It's about sex. It's all the characters talk about, it's the driving force of the movie, and dirty jokes/sexual innuendos are the foundation of it. Just think it over before popping it in for family movie night.

12. Ewan McGregor Movie Review: A Life Less Ordinary (1997)

12. Ewan McGregor Movie Review: A Life Less Ordinary (1997)

This is Ewan's last movie of 1997 and oh boy, is it a good one! And yes, the plot is just as zany as his previous two movies lol. Here are some fun facts before we begin!

Ewan's wife, Eve Mavrakis, is credited as Art Department Associate.

Once again the terrific trio of Danny Boyle, John Hodge, and Andrew Macdonald are reunited with Ewan to create movie magic! Sadly, Ewan and Danny's friendship took a huge blow after this project. The grudge would last for nearly two DECADES before they worked together again.

Stanley Tucci plays a minor role in the movie and will work with Ewan again in the future.

Genre: Comedy/Romance

Rating: R

Director: Danny Boyle

Starring: Cameron Diaz, Ewan McGregor

Synopsis: Robert Lewis is experiencing the worst day of his life. He gets fired, dumped, and evicted all within twenty-four hours! He decides his only option is to speak to the CEO and demand his job back. Instead, he ends up kidnapping the man's daughter, Celine! In the midst of this chaos, two angels are sent from Heaven to help Robert and Celine fall in love.

Ewan Review: Ewan plays the character Robert Lewis. Robert is a hopeless romantic and aspiring writer. He's a sweet guy who doesn't know how he ended up as a wanted criminal but thinks he's gone too far to turn back. Thankfully for him, there's one person who's willing to help him be a convincing kidnapper and get the ransom money he needs...his kidnappee, Celine! Ewan gives a great performance in this role. His chemistry with Cameron Diaz is even better than his with Nicole Kidman for "Moulin Rouge!" in my opinion. He has two kiss scenes and a shirtless scene. He performs a song and dance number which is really fun. He wears the kilt which to my knowledge is the only time he's done so on screen to date. Robert is more innocent compared to Celine so that brings about some cute moments of confusion. Best of all, he sobs like a baby in one scene and it was *chef's kiss đŸ€Œ*. He needs to do more comedy roles because he's genuinely good at it! All the actors had great chemistry and gave stellar performances.

Screentime Percentage: Ewan is on screen for a grand total of 53/104 minutes making his SP 51%.

To Ewan or not to Ewan: Is the movie worth watching for Ewan alone? Yes! I'm a fan of his raspy screaming voice (and he does a lot of it), he sings, dances, and seeing him cry in fear is always appreciated. Is the movie worth watching in general? Also yes! It's funny and the actors play off each other so well. The story is unique and the soundtrack is great too!

Warning before Watching: There are some bloody scenes in the movie. Nothing super graphic but I still want to issue a warning for those who are uncomfortable by such depictions. Two characters get shot in the head and there's a close up of their wounds. There's a scene of a character intentionally cutting them self and drawing a large amount of blood. Lastly, a character is cut by someone else and there's a close up of the wound.

Where to Watch: "A Life Less Ordinary" is currently available for rent on Fandango at Home. You can also watch on Amazon Prime Video if you have a premium subscription or you can pirate it on soap2day.

Closing Thoughts: It truly sucks that this movie wasn't well-received and was commercially unsuccessful. We need more movies like this that a take chance on a wacky story! I call them "silly goofy movies" and they are sorely lacking in Hollywood today. I implore you to give this movie a watch. It's a great time!
