An excerpt from the revenge of the sith novelization reading: “Anakin.” Obi Wan’s voice had gone soft, and his hand was warm on Anakin’s arm. “There is no other Jedi I would rather have at my side right now. No other man.”

It’s a drawing of Anakin and Obi Wan. Anakin is depicted as a Black man brown skin and curly brown hair whereas Obi Wan is East Asian with fairer skin, monolids, and black hair. Obi Wan is clutching onto Anakin’s arms, and Anakin is doing the same to Obi Wan. They are both dressed in their regular robes and kneeling, facing one another. Flames curl out from Anakin’s back, burning his robes and obscuring part of his figure from the viewer. The harsh lighting of the fire illuminates Obi Wan’s face and chest, though the rest of him is cast in shadow. He is untouched by the fire, but there are tears running down his face anyway. Anakin is crying as well with his mouth ajar, as if he were calling out for help from his former Master.

An excerpt from the revenge of the sith novelization reading: The man he faced was everything Obi Wan had devoted his life to destroying: Murderer. Traitor. Fallen Jedi. Lord of the Sith. And here, and now, despite it all… Obi Wan still loved him.

It’s a drawing of Anakin Skywalker and Obi Wan on Mustafar based off the painting “Ivan the Terrible and His Son, Ivan” by Ilya Repin. Anakin’s head is resting against Obi Wan’s chest while blood pours from his temple. He has brown skin and dark brown hair, most of which is tied up aside from one loc which hangs to the left of his face. He wears his usual robes which are dark brown and black. His expression is blank though there is a visible tear rolling down his cheek. Obi Wan desperately holds onto him, his expression a mix of horror and regret. He wears his usual robes, which are white and dark brown. His skin is light and his hair is black with grey streaks along the temples. His hand is held to Anakin’s temple in a futile attempt to stop the blood which pours over his fingers. His other hand is wrapped around Anakin’s torso, keeping his Padawan close. They are backdropped against one of Mustafar’s lava rivers, harsh lighting hitting them from behind.

a quote reading: In the end, it was always him.

It all comes back to Mustafar.
