I noticed a correlation here, and maybe I’m looking too far into it- But listen. In the comics, it’s revealed that Stanley once wanted to become a comic book author, having made what is known as “Lil’ Stanley.” However, as we learn in the comic, his dreams were crushed when his comic was turned away and he gave up on his dream. Now in the present, he sees the comic he once made as a reflection of his own disappointment and shattered dreams- Selling it for 3 bucks on sale. NOW HERES THE THING. In Stanley’s Lowest Moments it’s listed that his dad tried to pawn him off for- How much money? 3 BUCKS. Ima reiterate. Stan sells Lil’ Stanley- The comic that he put his heart and soul into and was seen as unsatisfactory- For 3 bucks. Filbrick Pines tries to pawn Little Stan off as punishment for a bad grade- And by extension his inadequacy- For 3 bucks.

Uh oh Fordsie, your parents are acting awfully strange… The second installment of the 3 Buck Stan AU and our six fingered munchkin comes into play. Wonder what will come of that lol… I have a good idea on what will come next in this series/au, although I’ll likely be slow to post due to procrastinating- yk how it is lol. But yeah… next segment will probably get back to Stan and Mx Lottie’s nonsense as we finally get into the swing of things. It’s gonna be great, trust.

when you're having a good day and it hits you that stanley probably used to promise himself all the time that he would never become his father and he still unintentionally ended up somewhat looking like and acting like his father, filbrick's suit which was never meant to be his was his signature outfit and everyone had perceived him as a greedy grumpy old man who loves money for most of his life
Something I find really interesting about Stan’s character is how he believes fundamentally that he’s the stupid twin. When in reality he really isn’t and that makes for an interesting parallel between what we see and what he himself sees.
Stan has been conditioned from a young age that there’s only one of brilliance. And that’s in Stanford. The simple intelligence of picking up math and being extremely good with scientific research and knowledge. And because that’ll make money easier, their dad conditioned Stanford to be the ‘smart’ twin that was going places.
Stanley has been shown time and time again to be incredibly creative and socially intelligent (even book smarts too! He literally taught himself how to run a portal) but because that’ll wasn’t valued by his Pa it was shunned.
Stan absolutely could have been an author or comic writer but he thought that he couldn’t be. Stan had a future but it was conditioned out of him. He was told that he would only mean something if he was with Ford. He was told to not care about school work because he’s the ‘dumb one’. I firmly believe that Stan could have gotten wonderful grades or gone to college but because he wasn’t the favorite, that wasn’t an option. Stan is incredibly intelligent, he’s just intelligent in an unconventional way. And that unconventional way is kinda what ends up saving the world.

(Side Note: But there’s also kinda an interesting autism and adhd aspect related to them. Both the twins are heavily neurodivergent coded so I find it interesting that while Fords autism coded behavior and nerdiness because of that helped gain their Pa’s favor, while Stan’s ADHD behavior got him out of their Pa’s favor.)
