Today, you had decided that you were going to do your Christmas shopping. However, you decided to bring Natasha along to help you in your decision-making because she also needed to buy some presents.
“Where are we going first?” you asked Nat.
“I’m thinking we go to the bookstore first since it’s the closest and we’ll work our way around all the other shops.”
“Sounds good,” you responded.
It was less than a 5-minute walk to the bookshop that you and Bucky loved so much. It wasn’t fancy and the employees were accommodating.
“Good morning Richard,” you shouted as soon as you entered the shop.
Richard was one of the three workers at the shop. He was a decade or so younger than Bucky and was your favourite person there (although the others were still nice.) Richard had started working there 20 years ago when he was supposed to retire but, with his wife having passed and nothing to do he decided to get a job to give him something to do.
“Good morning dear, I see you haven't got Bucky with you today,” he responded with a smile on his face, “Who’s this lovely young lady you have with you?”
“This is mine and Bucky’s friend Natasha, we're here to do some Christmas shopping.”
Richard nodded, “It’s nice to meet you, Natasha.”
“It’s nice to meet you too Richard, I’ve heard a lot about you,” she responded with a grin on her face.
“All good things I hope,” Richard joked.
You all laughed, “There’s only good things to say about you.”
“I’ll let you ladies shop around while I finish stocking the shelves. If you need me just give me a shout.”
“Will do.”
You and Natasha walked around for a while before your eyes laid upon the perfect gift for Bucky. It was the first edition of the Hobbit aka Bucky’s favourite book. He did have a copy of it at home but it was a new copy.
You knew that Bucky would love it. You picked it up from the shelf and showed it to Natasha.
“Finally, you found one,” she rolled her eyes.
Bucky was always talking about getting a first-edition copy of The Hobbit, but he couldn’t find one anywhere. You had suggested him looking online but he didn't trust people as it was so how was he going to trust a stranger on the internet trying to sell something to him?
You walked over to the counter and it was perfect timing since Richard had just finished stocking the shelves.
He scanned the barcode on the back and asked, “Just this my dear?”
“Yes please,” you took your purse out of your bag and grabbed the correct amount of money.
You grabbed the book and put it in your bag and then said bye to Richard before walking out of the shop with Nat.
“Where to next?” you asked.
“I want to look in Louis Vuitton because Steve needs a new belt. His is almost falling apart but he’s too stubborn to buy a new one.”
“Sounds like Steve,” you added while trying not to laugh.
Everyone knew that Steve hated spending money on ‘unnecessary’ things. It wasn’t that he didn’t have money but he grew up not having much which had made him more conscious of how he spent the money he had.
You crossed the road and walked into the Louis Vuitton store….

Many hours later, you and Nat trudged through the door of the compound, both nads full of bags.
“Looks like you spent a lot of money,” Sam mentions.
“No shit!” you retorted.
Sam just rolled his eyes and looked over to Bucky and Steve who had just walked into the room.
“Did the shopping go well ladies?” Bucky asked.
“I’d say so,” Natasha shrugged.
“Me too, you responded.”
Bucky walked over to you and grabbed your bags off you. You followed him to your shared floor where he placed the bags down and picked you up.
